Valor Mortis - Launch Trailer | PS5 Games

Just saw the launch trailer dropped a little while ago on YouTube, though it is honestly a little disappointing that the footage provided for the PlayStation video is captured on PC.

I plan on picking this up on Steam, but know there are quite a few people who have shown concern regarding the lack of console performance information.

Great game that scratched my Elden Ring itch

I put nearly 200 hours into Elden Ring, it's one of my top handful of games of all time. One of those games you wish you could experience for the first time all over again, but when I finished the DLC I was spent on it and happy to play some other genres.

Now recently, with all the news of the Switch 2 port of Elden Ring, plus the tarnished edition add-on content, I was excited for a new audience to get to experience such a gem of a game. And at the same time made me wish I was also jumping into that game completely blind as so many now are.

Enter Mortal Shell 2. A game that I admittedly didn't have on my radar, wasn't familiar with the first one, but started to see all the preview content pop up on socials. And when the reviews started dropping right before early access, I immediately became excited for this game that many were calling one of the best Souls-likes they'd ever played. And I have to agree.

It's not perfect, for reasons many have pointed out in other posts, but man did I have a blast with this one. Just wanted to give the dev team a shoutout for their hard work and passion.

Ran through the game with Eredrim and a maxed out battle axe.

One more back in the reservation queue

Got my email earlier this afternoon for the 512 + controller, but after going back and forth this evening I decided that I was going to allow the 3 days to lapse and let my Machine go back into the queue. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that it wouldn't get sufficiently used, considering I have a pretty nice PC already, plus a Switch 2 & two PS5's (one being a Pro).

I'll also be dumping probably $1,500 into my wife's SUV for brakes, tires, & other odds/ends sometime next month, so the universe more or less said "you're good, let someone else have a stab at it." Hopefully one of y'all on the waitlist will get bumped up sooner than later.

Anyway, for all of you that also got emails today, hopefully your Machines ship out quickly and you'll be enjoying them perhaps by next week! I'm excited to see what the general public thinks of it versus the YouTube talking heads with an agenda. I really think this little machine is going to punch above its weight, just like the Steam Deck has over the years, and will continue to improve as Valve updates and optimizes.

Cheers.

I was wrong about Yoshi & the Mysterious Book

I picked this game up last week on release day on a complete whim, originally had no intention of buying it. I got home from work, popped it in, and played through the first area and was immediately put off by it, didn't care for it at all, didn't see the point of what I as doing. Was going to put it up for sale over the weekend and be done with it. The next day I decided "well, I already have the game, let me at least give it one more try," and I'm glad I did.

I figured out that I was trying to play the game as if it was another Woolly or Crafted World, and once I got my head around what the devs were trying to do, I really have enjoyed my time with it. Each area is it's own little biome, and you are free to explore it as little or as much as you want. That may not click with some players (as the lower review scores show), but for me the game has been a nice palate cleanser. There are creatures whose biomes I have really enjoyed messing around in, and for those that I didn't really care for, it's easy enough to do the bare minimum to "clear" the area and move on.

And for those worried about the length of the game, I have played for ~15 hours and still have 3 entire "worlds" left. And that's with me not being overly concerned with finding every single flower in each biome (I've found them all in probably 75% of the areas), or discovering everything about each creature.

Anyway, for those skeptical of the game, I get it, but I figured I would share my experience, being that I was pretty put off at first but have definitely come around to it.

Fuel in tank for extended period of time

My car has been up on jack stands in my workshop since January, haven't been able to get out there since then to start working through my to-do list.

Should I be concerned at all about the gas just sitting in the tank for that long? It's just regular 87 w/ethanol. I figure once I'm ready to put the car back on the road in a few months or so that I'll drain whatever is in there via the tank drain plug and add some fresh from a can. Just worried about any potential gumming up of fuel lines, injectors, moisture in the tank, etc.

Any input is appreciated, car is a '95.
