I was always under the impression that i only need to apply an Pre-Emphasis EQ filter to my CD's that have pre emphasis. This morning i wanted to try to see what Gemini would say, and i constantly get the advice to use the SOX Resampler first and set it to 88.2 or 96 khz, and then the IIR pre emphasis filter on Foobar2000. Is it correct that the resampler prevents bilinear transform cramping and thus is the best practice for de emphasizing cd's that i play native on foobar?

it's happening! While many prefer the later sound of the band, I still like the songs on this album. This one deserved to be released properly like this
