Cat throws up several times a week, what food?

Hi all. We recently took my younger cat to the vet and she asked if she throws up, we said no but that our older cat throws up probably four times a week. Since he was about a year. He is 4. She said that this is not normal which I know and that going on a single source exotic protein diet like rayne kangaroo would help but that she would also put him on prednisone. I looked at the food and we would need to buy 2 bags a month at $135 dollars total. She said if he eats any of the other cats food it would restart the whole process. So that means my other cat would need this food too because of how food addicted he is and steals her food. I’m kind of just at a loss. He can get IBD from this and then cancer if not treated. I just don’t have this money. We already spend almost $300 a month on 2 cats and a dog and I just graduated college with $60k of student loan debt. We also want a baby when debt is paid off. Idk i just feel like I can’t give him what he needs :( has anyone else gone through this? Any other food recommendations? He currently eats Nulo baked and coated salmon and chicken recipe mixed with purina live clear sensitive skin and stomach turkey.
