Baby gorilla forced to pose with hairless white monster for author photo again (1971)

Many infant captive apes develop a sort of Stockholm Syndrome with their captors. Not this little gorilla, who eyes researcher Geoffrey Bourne warily as Bourne grips him tightly in a forced embrace. The photo is from the back cover of Bourne's book _The Ape People_ (1971).

10/10 Would Recommend Experiencing Life as a Gorilla

I had one of the strangest experiences of my life this weekend and I need to know if anyone else has ever done something similar.
For some reason I got curious about what it might feel like to be a gorilla living in the rainforest. So I turned off all the lights, got fully clothed, stepped into a freezing cold shower, and ate a banana.

For a brief moment… I genuinely felt connected to nature in a way I can’t explain. Like I understood, on some weird primal level, what it might be like to be a gorilla sitting in the jungle at night while rain pours down.

It sounds ridiculous, and honestly it was. But at the same time it felt like one of those oddly human experiences everyone should try at least once.

Has anyone else ever done random stuff like this just to experience life from a completely different perspective?
