I know they need dry soil, but I see them occasionally near Hilo and I miss having them. How dry is dry, when talking about bougainvillea? Can I place it on a slope? In a raised bed with more cinder than soil? What’s the secret to growing leeward plants on the windward side?
I just opened my holiday box and there was mold in there. What solutions exist to store both breakables and fabrics without them getting moldy? I’m on the windward side so it rains every day and is humid all the time.

I’m looking for a good, *locally owned* veterinary practice for cats and dogs near Hilo. It’s hard to tell from the websites. Anyone know how to tell? Or do you know of one for sure? I ask because a lot of veterinary practices are being bought by private equity. It’s definitely affecting service and pricing.
