Sankey chart for my unemployment job search - 1 month

You all at r/jobs were so very kind to me when I posted about being a part of a mass layoff at my previous company. I thought I might swing in with an update and say that after almost exactly a month of unemployment (July 20th to August 19th), I started my new job today.

I created a Sankey chart with my job search stats just in case it might be helpful for anyone to reference. I know that I’m fortunate to be in the position I’m in, and along with my hard work and tenacity in the hunt, I can acknowledge that it was lucky that a company took an interest in my employment so quickly.

If you got laid off, I’m sorry. I feel your pain. It’s scary and difficult, especially when you don’t know how long you’re going to be out of a job. Please keep working hard and getting those applications in, even when it feels discouraging. Happy to answer any questions through comment or DMs as they come through.

Thank y’all again for being so supportive. We’re all in it together.

Finally picked up this very nostalgic stunner today!

I got the last in-stock GAV01SKE-3A after pining for a couple of months over it to spoil myself for getting a new job 💚

Anybody still not get their corrected Louder 30th t-shirt?

Hi all, I was one of the people that ordered the 30-year anniversary t-shirt from Louder and I received one last month without the “A Thirty Year Embrace” text underneath the graphic art. I emailed the Louder team about it and they said they were sending out corrected versions on July 13th, but I still haven’t received my corrected version. It’s been two weeks since the date they gave me, so apart from checking in with them via email again, I thought I’d also see if it was the case with anyone else here. I’m in Texas, USA for context!

Got laid off today, along with my entire department.

Next week was going to be my one-year anniversary at the company, so I wasn’t with them for a super long time or anything. The economy obviously isn’t stupendous right now and the industry my company is in is especially suffering, so it isn’t really all that surprising in retrospect, but it still came as a shock considering we had no semblance of a heads up. My supervisor didn’t even know. She was also let go.

I was kind of hoping to avoid the job hunt for longer than a year, but at least it means I’m not completely out of practice yet. I know the job market is pretty grim at the moment. Just gotta keep my head up and grind. I’m gonna take today to process, and then tomorrow, I’ll start updating my resume and my website and put my LinkedIn spelunking gloves on.

It only happened about two hours ago, so I guess I just wanted to tell someone.

[Question][7N43-6B20] New to vintage watch collecting and put a NATO strap on my everyday vintage Seiko!

The watch came secondhand with a crusty, hard leather strap, and I just started collecting vintage watches, so I thought giving this military-style Seiko a NATO strap as a replacement would be fitting. Never had a NATO strap before, but my first impressions are positive!

However, I posted this picture in another sub and a commenter asked me if the bezel was a mod or not. Because I bought the watch secondhand, I wasn’t quite sure how to answer. The previous owner said that it was all original except for the leather strap it came with. I know that Seiko has made hobnail bezels before, but I couldn’t find out if this specific model was ever made with one. Can anyone tell me if this is indeed a mod, or if it’s the original bezel? Does it have a specific tell? I’d appreciate any thoughts!
