New island!

New island!

Finally decided to start a second island on my fiances switch, since he doesn't use it. I wanted to wait, because I want to stream at some point. But realistically, if I'm streaming, I'll probably just do a island transfer onto a new switch and then stream with a different one. Not like I can afford streaming stuff at the moment, so here we are haha.

Right when I was about to pop out of the airport, I thought to myself "it would be cool to be able to have an island that would look SO good in the fall" well, I got an orange airport, and apples. SO. ITS GOING WELL!

I'm not a fan of my villagers, BUT! I feel like I can really have more villagers with having a second switch. So I'm excited. I also don't want to immediately find my dreamies, because I want to be able to get a decent amount of villagers first. Like idk, I don't want it to be easy, if that makes sense? Sure I'll time travel but idk. I want to feel like I worked to get them if that makes sense😅

Cups to grams/weight?

Sorry if this isn't the right sub to ask this, AND sorry if this is a really dumb question.

I'm not necessarily a noobie to baking, but I grew up using cup measurements, not going by weight. Well, recently, I made these delicious muffins and it had cup measurements, but it also had grams.

So I bought a food scale.

Idk how to even explain it but it was more simple and somehow more satisfying to weigh out my ingredients (obviously didn't weight EVERYTHING, ya know, tbsp, tsp, and I didn't measure liquid but it obviously worked out good)

So I was wondering, recipes I have that use cups, can I just Google cup to grams and have it work for my dry ingredients? Do I need to specifically look up what I'm weighing? I'd love to try a cookie recipe I make very well, BUT weigh it and just see how it turns out.

I also feel like weighing stuff makes things faster, and I use less utensils. So in general I'd rather weigh things.

Hope what I said makes sense, and thank you in advance for answering my (possibly dumb) question!!

Farmers Market Hangout - UPDATE

I just want to say I had a great time! I'm definitely going to do this again! Going to try and have a couple more stall areas! Not sure when I'll do this again, I have tons of stuff I need to get rid of and such, but I want to gather a couple things before doing this again!

I also want to say thank you to everyone who came! Everyone was super respectful and I just really appreciate that!

I kinda want to try and make this a weekly thing maybe :) I love having people run around my island!

Again, thank you everyone!

Farmers Market Hangout!

(Providing two maps in case you want to view it without the arrows and boxes. Also PSA: my dream address is how my island used to be! It's very different now!)

Hello everyone! I am hosting a small farmers market hangout since my island is almost completed! (The main things not completed are the other players' houses, mine on the other hand is! Then my beaches are bare besides able sisters and the stalls)

What to do on my island:

• Explore, fish and catch bugs!

• Check out our farmers market and yard sale!

• Pick your own fruits and veggies!

• Leave a fun message on the bulletin board!

• Check out the shops!

• Nooks hot item: glowing-moss stool and wooden toolbox

• Saharah is here!

Island Rules:

• Do NOT run through flowers. Yes, they grow back. I'm trying to pluck them occasionally so I can craft with them!

• Do NOT PICK/PLUCK FLOWERS, WEEDS, GLOWING MOSS, OR VINES!

• ABSOLUTELY NO SHOVELS!

• Do NOT PICK UP STAR FRAGMENTS

• You do NOT need a ladder or pole vault! There are vines everywhere if you would like to climb! The island is entirely accessible!

• Be mindful of others! Do not take everything for yourself! This is supposed to be fun!

• Do NOT leave with ( - ), must leave through the airport!

Donations are not required but very appreciated! I have multiple donation boxes around the stalls so you can use those, or any extra diys I'll take! I ask if you plan to bring diys, let me know so I can grab them! I'll have you drop them off right in front of the airport or right behind resident services.

I put squares and arrows for what that area is, and which direction to get to them. My island is very “you NEED to go this way” to reach certain things!

For example, to get to the farm, you have to go through the castle AND the orchard! Or, going through the castle, if you want to get to the rest of the farmers market, go up the stairs and go through the LEFT gate. The right gate takes you to the farm!

• Red: stalls/farmers market (will have food items, flower items, clothes, gyroids, kk music/instruments, and fish bait)

• Orange: yard sale (will have furniture, flooring and wallpaper)

• Yellow: orchard (will have all fruits, coconuts are available on beaches)

• Blue: farm (will have all vegetables and stalls with golden watering cans)

Depending on how this does, I may come by stalls and add more items! I'm only letting about 3 people in. If this goes well I'll let more people come in as well. Please comment with your IGN, island name, and favorite villager and I'll dm you a dodo code! Again if you do plan to bring extra diys just let me know in advance!

Small flower giveaway

Hello! I have every flower in the game, not a ton of some of them BUT I was wondering if there's anyone in need of a couple flowers? I can give at least two so you can clone them yourself! I will come to your island to drop them off so just have an area ready for me!

Just comment your IGN, island name and which flowers you're needing and I will dm you more details :)

Only doing a couple people! I'll change the flair once I've given some flowers away

Edit: with placing flowers on your island, preferably somewhere that I can assist in watering if need be :)

Looking for people to water!

I have TONS of flowers that need watering! Trying to clone a bunch of stuff :) I'm searching for as many people as I can to water! I will provide watering cans! If you want to keep them go right ahead! I'll have those right in front of the airport. If you'd like to trade for something, just lemme know what you're looking for and I can see if I have it or something! Thanks in advance:)

Also my island is under construction so I ask to not wonder much, just water flower please :)

Oh and please don't take anything besides the watering cans I provided, and whatever you'd want to trade for!

Edit: I time travel, so I will gladly have more people water if they want but so far, everyone's help got me 52 flowers😁

Placing items on Towers/Pillars

So, I made a post awhile ago about what others put on their castle towers, and there were a LOT of comments that said they didn't know they could do this.

Since then, I've seen other posts about people not knowing they could/how. Well, I wanted to share knowledge about it for those who don't know.

As you can see from my picture, you CAN place items on castle towers and pillars. I would've shown an example with the ruined pillar, but I unfortunately don't have the diy.

It's very simple to do; anything that is a miscellaneous item (in your storage and in DIY Recipes+, there are different categories, just go to the miscellaneous category) is a TABLETOP ITEM.

No, you can't use torches, campfires, or anything of the sorts. It needs to be a 1x1 MISCELLANEOUS item!

I have seen people say they can't place anything on top, and you just have to be on the same level, right in front as if it was a table (it is, it's just ✨taller✨) and place a tabletop item. I think people might be trying to put houseware items on top and that's why there's been confusion with being able to place things.

AND there are items in the other category that can be placed as well, like gyroids, small tabletop fossils, KK songs, etc. There are items in the other category that cannot be placed, if it can't be placed, it can't go on a table in general.

One thing to note with castle towers, there's a weird issue with not being able to turn things on/off when it's placed (I think it's how it's spaced, as castle towers are not a 1x1). Pillars don't have that issue though!

I hope this helps people, because I've seen so many posts about it. Now, enjoy putting items on towers and pillars!

Terraforming mood swings

Okay I'm in this weird mixture of "OH IM SO EXCITED TO TERRAFORM!!!" to "oh. This... Isn't going well. This doesn't look right. What am I doing. What am I DOING???"

Weruva Dry Food

So, I made a post before about giving my two girls Tiki Cat dry food, and that I didn't know what to go for since they're transitioning to adult food.

I was told the hills brand was good, but I did not find it in store. They like weruva wet food, and I have been buying them that, I don't think I saw the dry food at the store either, BUT if it's good I'll buy it. (almost every brand I see and look up it says it's good but I want to hear from real people and not some dumb crap on Google)

If I do order it on chewy, I might have to buy two as there's not much it seems? Like, might have it auto ship sooner than I need if that makes sense. I would rather have more than I need than not. Idk, so, is weruva good dry food?

Tiki Cat Broths

I honestly don't even know what kind of flair to put, I'm kinda venting but also kinda just??? Idk all I can say is bummer lol.

Anyways,

I thought they would like the broths, but they do not. I'm going to attempt mixing some of it with wet food they like, just so it's not a waste of money. I'm worried too because I bought them some of the regular tiki cat wet food to try again? Sorta? They had the kitten kind a good while back and loved it, but once they were introduced to weruva, they didn't eat it as much so I stopped buying it. But thought I'd try again since it's adult food now. Welp. Wish me luck😅 if they don't eat it I am able to give it to my mom so she can give it to her cats. She has too many so one is bound to like it at least.

Tiki Cat dry food

Hello! So my two girls are going to be slowly switching from kitten food to adult food. I wanted advice when it comes to dry food. So, they currently eat the Tiki Cat Kitten health, and have no issues eating it. But, with the adult Tiki Cat kinds, what is the real difference/which is best? They have ones that are indoor health, and high protein. They have tried a sample bag of the high protein, so I don't think there's going to be much issue with which one they'll eat but for overall health/wellbeing, which would be best to feed them? They are both indoors, I just really don't know what the difference between them is, or if there is much of a difference.

Also, the tiki cat solutions, I'm not going to be strictly buying that one because it's a lot more expensive, and I don't have the money to give them that strictly. If I bought it, it would be mixed with their other food. But not given to them like they get their regular food.

But any advice or info helps a lot!

Edit: I realized I should've made it clear they I do feed them wet food. I just like them having dry, because I can't afford to feed them strictly wet food. I just don't know the difference in the different types of dry food! Like why are there so many??? I get it for health benefits but??? Indoor? High protein??? All this other stuff???? Idk I'm just tryna figure it out lol

THIS ISNT A DRILL PEOPLE

I have FINALLY gotten a purple pansy!!! I'm going to continue to try and get more through breeding, but will be trying to clone as well! I am actually super happy, I was so close to giving up on my pansies!

u/sour_lemon_ade — 2 months ago

What I've decorated so far!

Not even close to being done, but I'm SO happy with the results so far!!! I'm seriously so excited to get it close to being done so I can have visitors🤍🤍🤍

First Purple Tulip!!!

Currently trying to achieve all the flowers in the game, as I never have before. Finally got the purple tulip, so now I'm going to try and get more by breeding and cloning! Hoping for the best haha.

I still need to get more flowers, BUT I'm trying to get a lot of everything so that I can do flower giveaways :)

I also have some flowers I did get on a treasure island and I kinda regret it, BUT I will try and breed those by myself. I just need the mental capacity (mainly took blue roses and I know those are a PAIN so I don't wanna right now lmao)
