If Xbox has a disc drive on their next console, would Sony do the same with PS6?

IF (and yes that's a strong if) the next Xbox console actually has a disc drive, would it force Sony's hand in reversing their disc discontinuation? Would they have no choice but to have a disc drive on the PS6 in order to compete? Xbox hasn't been a legit competitor to Playstation in over a decade, but having a disc drive would finally give them an edge, with Sony announcing the PS6 won't have a one. Sony would have no choice but to have a disc drive on PS6, am I right?

How much time should one allocate to the Indiana State Museum?

I am visiting Indianapolis this weekend but am unsure which day to visit the Indiana State Museum. If I go there on Saturday I will only have about 2-3 hours to the museum, whereas if I go there Sunday I will have from opening til closing time. How many hours does one need to see all the exhibits properly in the museum? On a side note I’m seeing the Odyssey in their IMAX at 10:45pm on Saturday night, so that’ll be completely separate since the museum closes at 5.

I had a lovely, wholesome encounter with this random girl in college

One day back in college, I was standing in line at the deli in one of the campus dining halls. Then suddenly this drop-dead beautiful girl came up to stand next to me in line, and for some reason she stood super close to me. Anyway, my sub was getting made by the deli person, and they were putting too many onions on it, so I made some jokes/remarks under my breath about how they were messing it up.

Unbeknownst to me, the gorgeous girl managed to hear me. She turned to me with a big smile and kept laughing at all my remarks. And oh my God, she had the most beautiful smile/laugh I’d ever seen…I’ll never forget it. Especially with how up-close I saw it. We just looked at each other, our faces inches apart, and laughed the whole time while I continued cracking jokes. It was almost like we knew each other, even though we’d never met before.

Anyway I got my sub and left. I never saw that girl again, or even got her name, but I’m glad we at least got to share that nice moment. She seemed super kind and was absolutely stunning. I thought she was the most beautiful girl on our entire campus of 40,000. I mean her gorgeous brown hair, her amazing EYES when she smiled and laughed…they were to die for 😍😍. I swear her smile lit up the whole dining hall, which was quite large. And I can’t begin to tell you how cute her laugh sounded.

That encounter was over 10 years ago and I still think about it from time to time. It was just one of those small moments from college I’ll never forget. I hope she’s doing well in life out there somewhere :)

I threw gummy worms at a woman for talking and using her phone in the theater

A few years ago I was watching Inside Out 2 in theaters. Sitting right in front of me were these two women and a young girl, maybe 7-8 years old. Throughout the movie they kept talking and the two women wouldn’t stop using their phones. One of the women used hers on full brightness. It was so incredibly disruptive.

I happened to have a pack of gummy worms, but didn't want to waste any full worms on her. So, after realizing at some point I couldn’t take it anymore, I bit off half of one worm and threw the other half at her, and didn't miss. She turned around and looked in my direction but I just kept looking straight at the screen as if nothing happened. But then she STILL wouldn't stop using her phone. So, a few minutes later, I bit off half of another gummy worm and threw the other half at her. That really got her angry.

She turned around, looked right at me and said, "STOP IT!" Again, I just kept looking at the screen, acting like it wasn't me who threw it. Then she turned to the woman and little girl and said, "He's throwing gummy worms at me!" The three of them turned around to look at me, then looked around to see who else could've thrown it. They continued murmuring to each other, then the little girl pointed at me (at least I think it was me) and said, "Well, it definitely wasn't that guy."

The three of them turned back around to watch the movie, and the woman finally dimmed her phone, and eventually stopped using it several minutes later. They also shut up for the rest of the movie. The woman also left for a few minutes, presumably to tell the staff on me, but nothing came of it.

So for future reference, if you ever see someone talking/using their phone in a movie theater, just throw popcorn or candy at them. They won't know who did it ;)

Yet another reminder to embrace your local libraries

A lot of people have said that their local libraries don’t carry video games or movies. I thought the same thing about my library because I never saw them there, but then I emailed the library staff to make sure, and they told me they indeed carry many of the latest movies and games. They just happened to be really hidden. So those of you who are assuming your library doesn’t carry them, I strongly urge you to call or email all the local libraries in your vicinity just to make sure. Because I wish I knew this earlier about mine. And if they don’t carry a particular title, you can always request that they acquire it, as I did with 007 First Light, and with Pragmata a couple months ago. My requests were the sole reason they added those two games, and let me check them out before anyone else. It’s always worth a try if you’re a broke gamer like me!

Is it me or is 'Left vs Right' being overshadowed by 'Right vs Right'?

For many years, particularly since 2015 or so, there was a heated conflict between the Left and the Right on EVERY SINGLE social or political issue. But these past couple years or so, there’s been a drastic shift. Now it seems like it’s no longer Left vs Right…now it’s just Right vs Right. Now conservatives are too busy fighting with each other to fight with liberals. Sure they still disagree with the Left wholeheartedly on everything, but the Right is now putting all their focus into eating itself. It’s almost as if they’ve forgotten about the Left. In fact, it seems the Left has mellowed somewhat on cancelling/silencing/censoring the Right, and instead opt to just watch the Right eat its own tail and generally stay out of it. Yes the Left and Right still go at it every now and then, but not as often these days as the Right implodes on itself.

A lot of it has to do with Trump becoming Israel first instead of America first, and getting involved in foreign wars despite promising not to. A lot of it also has to do with Charlie Kirk’s death, and right-wingers pointing fingers at each other over it, including Kirk’s wife. Hell the Left has even found common ground with factions of the Right regarding Israel/Palestine. It’s only made the right-wing schism even more visible. Personally I am not left wing or right wing and have always been watching on the sidelines, but this latest shift has stuck out to me as peculiar.

Has anyone else noticed this? Why else do you think this has happened, or does anyone disagree and think the Right still fights with the Left more than themselves?

Are there a lot of people who only care about the story mode and not online mode?

Now that Sony has again jacked up the price of PlayStation Plus, which will almost certainly be required to play GTA 6 online, I feel even less inclined to play the online mode when it comes out. I haven’t had PS+ in a year and a half and don’t see that changing for this game, as hyped as j am for it. Personally I’ve always preferred the story mode over the online mode in GTA IV and V; in fact I personally could never get into GTA Online. There just wasn’t a whole lot to do in it, and the multiplayer missions feel like just slight variations of one another.

Meanwhile the single player mode is a blast. I’ve been playing the GTA games since Vice City when I was a kid, and some of my best gaming memories were my friends and I taking turns going on rampages in single-player mode and collecting 6 wanted stars while we all laughed our asses off. I just never got the same thrill out of online multiplayer mode. So I probably won’t bother with online mode for GTA 6, mainly because I don’t want to spend the money to get PS+ just for one game (the only online multiplayer games I play on PS5 are free-to-play), but also because it was just never that great to me.

Are many other people in the same boat? Or are most people gonna buy it for online mode? I’m just curious is all.

A kid randomly came up to me, pointed his phone at me, and then showed he got $100 in Apple Cash...what did he do??

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this. I had a very bizarre experience at Target yesterday. Moments after I entered the store, this random kid went up to me, maybe age 14 or so, and said, "Excuse me, sir?" I stopped and turned around, and without another word he suddenly pointed his iPhone at me below my neck...as if he was trying to take a picture of my pants or something. He pointed his phone at me for maybe one second before I IMMEDIATELY heard the Apple Pay sound, and he said, "Thanks!" So I asked, "Wait, what did you do?" And he pointed his phone at me and showed me he had $100 in his Apple Cash card, and he simply said, "Hundred dollars!" I was confused as hell, in fact I was worried that maybe he stole $100 from me somehow via Apple Pay (on a side note, I had my brand new iPhone 17 in my pocket, which I had just gotten a couple hours earlier). So I just asked him again, "But...what did you do?" And he just repeated "Hundred dollars!" showing me it again on his phone. Then he walked away.

What the hell did that kid do?? I immediately checked my Wallet app on my iPhone and checked all of my cards and none of them had $100 charged to them. There were no alerts or anything from any financial apps at all. So I don't think he stole the money from me; he'd have no way to do so since my phone was in my pocket, and I would've had to use FaceID to approve of the transaction. This is my first iPhone with FaceID (I just upgraded my SE 3) so I'm new to this kind of security; I'd always used TouchID before. Is there some kind of app that wants people to take pictures of other people's clothes and get paid for it? Am I going to be featured on some shady app or website? I really wish I grilled the kid more but it all happened so fast and the kid seemed like he might've had autism or something (I mean that with no disrespect to people with developmental disabilities). But it's been driving me crazy since I have no idea what the kid was doing. For what it's worth I'm a guy in my early 30s so I don't think it was for any kind of dirty website or anything, since you might be wondering.
