Absolutely no studies in the last 2 days?

Usually if I keep Prolific open I can get a decent amount, even on weekends and especially at night (when I assume a lot of people in other timezones are putting them up). On Friday it was normal but after that I've only had 1-2 the entire weekend. Is it just a REALLY slow weekend and is anyone else experiencing this? I don't think I've ever experienced it being this slow, usually there are at least a couple of those AI interview ones thrown on my dash but it's been practically empty.

Afaik I haven't been rejected for anything or done something that would put my account in poor standing so I'm not too worried about being in trouble

Some of y'all don't know how creator rewards works and it shows

"By playing the game you're giving Qwel money!"

NOT ALL THE TIME

Devs only get money from someone playing their game if that person has made a purchase $9.99 or over in the last 60 days and the player stays in their game for 10+ if that game is one of the three first games played in a day. It irks me to know end when someone says so confidently that playing it gives the devs money no matter what when it isn't always the case, it's mostly the spread of misinformation that bothers me and shaming others for playing the game by accusing them of supporting them financially

Game is on sale for $11 AUD. Should I get it despite already knowing what happens?

Update: I caved and bought it. I really gotta stop impulse buying if I want to save for an actual PC lmao

I was in the fandom during it's peak and I watched a lot of playthroughs, so I know the entire story and how the game goes. For a while I was considering getting it but for almost $20 AUD it didn't feel worth it.

It's on sale for nearly half it's usual price so should I buy it now while it's on sale or hold off and not worry about it? I've never really seen it go on sale for anything less then $10 AUD, but if it's close to half price then it might be the only time I would consider getting it (aside from a physical release)

Is Linux worth it if you really don't care about all of the bells and whistles that come with it?

Sorry if the title is poorly worded but I'll try and explain it better.

My friend is giving me their brother's old PC after a couple repairs (which I'm absolutely grateful for). But it's not compatible with Windows 11 without some parts being replaced. We're not really interested in spending a crap-ton of money on these upgrades or the license so they tried to get me into Linux.

They kept on going on about how highly customisable it is and you can do all of these things with it like updates/downloads straight from the terminal, changing the behaviour of open tabs, etc. And I just really don't care about that stuff? I get it's a big selling point and they were trying to get me hyped up but I don't care for that kind of thing at all.

I had a bad experience trying it on a VM where they tried to get me to use Arch and Cachy while I had 0 experience and nothing worked so we wasted 3 hours, that really put me off Linux and I was wondering if it's worth the hassle when you don't really care about the things that set it apart from Windows. If I can do everything on it that I can do on my Windows laptop but with better performance I'm completely fine with it, trying different distros for the sake of it and using the terminal doesn't interest me.

Edit: A lot of people have suggested Mint and Fedora so those two are probably what I'll try next once I get the courage

Should I play with my broken scroll wheel or get a new mouse?

I got my mouse two years ago and it arrived with a non-functioning scroll wheel. Idk why but I never bothered to try and return it and just made do with it.

I've been wanting to get more confident with self defence in this game, but using the scroll wheel seems to be a huge part of it. I've tried mapping the scroll buttons to z and x, but using it requires me to take my fingers off the movement keys (which isn't ideal and also isn't as fast).

Should I just keep playing but continue using a playstyle that prioritises stealth and patience or bite the bullet and buy a mouse with a working scroll wheel? I'm 30 hours in and half of that has been spent on the title screen because I turn the game on and get so anxious I stall playing it (99% of the time I'm solo). Sorry if this question is dumb

"Qwel is taking so long to respond!" BE PATIENT MY GOD

A proper response to a situation like this could take up to a week to properly write. It's been 2-3 days since this started again, what do you expect her to do? Push out a sloppy half-assed response with no evidence of her own? Give her a little bit of time, this is something that should be thoughtfully written and done properly

"This value must be 20 or over"

I took a survey related to how you feel about the police in Australia and I sat through 5-10 minutes of questions. At the end it asks for my age and I input 18, then it comes up with the error "This value must be 20 or over" despite the fact that I swear the disclosure at the start said people "18 and over" can participate.

My DOB indicates that I'm only 18, so is it normal for you to receive surveys that you can't actually complete?

Edit: Turns out it was a technical issue after all, I messaged the researcher/s and they confirmed

Other people have probably already talked about this but pipsqueak 2 has a problem where it refuses to make dialogue. I have to specifically tell it to “make ___ talk”, and even then it’ll have the character say a couple words and that’d be it. It’s a lot better at descriptions but not so much character interaction. Maybe I need to do something different but this problem became very apparent with the new model, for now I’ll be using Soft Launch
