When should I worry about buffering (regarding cable length and built in buffers)

Hey everyone! I’m working about buffering some long cables. Basically: whether I should worry about it or not. I’m running an EW-D wireless system into my pedalboard, and the cables that I’m worried about are:
- a 6 in cable from the EW-D to a 1/4” panel-mount pass through to a 25 ft cable to the input of my amp
- a 25 ft cable from my effects send to a 1/4” panel-mount pass through and a 6 inch cable into the input of a darkglass anagram
- a 6 in cable from the output of the anagram to a 1/4” panel-mount pass through to a 25th cable going to the effects in of my amp.

The owners manual for the amp and anagram say that all of those outputs are buffered, but are all buffers the same? Is there a particular type of buffer I should be looking for to make sure that it will make up for the cable length? Also, will the pass-through jacks mess with the buffer? Specifically, the ones going through a 6-inch cable first. Thanks!

Memorial Day sales?

Hey everyone! I’m looking at getting my first Tenkara rod and learn on it over the summer, but man are they expensive (it’s all relative, I know, but I’m in university right now so funds are limited). Does anyone know if there are any sales that typically happen for Memorial Day, or maybe Father’s Day? Thanks!

Retrofitting MIDI on/off ONLY to old pedals?

Hello all, first of all, let me start by saying that I DID search for this, and while there were a couple of threads, the scope of inquiry on them was more broad than mine. They were seeking to add selectable presets and other things to only pedals, while I solely want to be able to turn a couple of older pedals on/off with my MIDI controller. I know that loop switchers exist, but I don’t want to add yet another box to my board, and I think this would make a fun project.

I just don’t really know where to start. I’ve reached out to one company already that I found on one of the old Reddit threads, but most of the stuff on their site seems like overkill for my use. Does anyone have any advice for this project, or maybe done it themselves already? Thanks!

In the 2-ish years that I’ve been in this town I’ve notice that there are a large amount of 18-wheelers and smaller truck-and-trailers that hang out in the left lane doing under the speed limit. Why is this? I’ve given up on society figuring out that the left lane is meant for passing only, but this seems like a new low.

In Houston there were a lot of highways that had “no trucks in the left lane” signs, and they could be ticketed. Why isn’t that a thing here?

As the title states, what are your favorite practice solutions for when you're on the move? I'm in university and regularly chill in the library for hours to encourage productive study sessions, but my practicing has suffered because there's not a good way to quietly do it. I have a Focusrite Scarlett and a Darkglass Anagram. I want something that I can bust out anywhere that allows me to practice through headphones, as well as practice along with music. I don't have headphones yet, but I was looking at the Beyerdynamic 770 Pros. I've also heard good things about the 990s, but I read they're open back and I'm worried that that will make them louder in public. Let me know what y'all think!
