Is the Lovevery play gym worth it?

Not necessarily from a cost point of view but more so a one-more-thing-in-my-house point of view. My baby is 8 weeks old and has started liking to spend time on his current play mat/gym. We have the snuggleme one, which is completely beige, but I do have black and white cards up on it for him to look at which he loves and smiles at. He likes the dangly bits as well and it’ll keep him entertained for a good 15 minutes while I get time to wash my face/make the bed/feel more like a person. But I worry as he gets older it’s just going to be boring for him cause it has no color or anything to touch and feel. He’s discovered his hands recently so those things are probably starting to matter more.

So basically, did you like it? Did baby like it? Is it worth it at his age? Would love to know!

How do I get my baby to like being carried, or am I just doomed?

For reference my baby is 7 weeks old, 23in, and just over 11lbs. Not a clingy baby at all which maybe doesn’t help. He does love to be held and rocked, but is equally content to spend some quiet time in the bouncer or bassinet. He’s also EBF.

I’ve tried the ergobaby embrace, ergobaby Omni, and the Tula explore. Had the fit checked for each and it was good. But he lasts maybe 2 minutes in any of them because he starts fussing and rooting, despite being put in after a good feed and 15 minutes upright to digest. He spends the two minutes in it lifting his head to look at me and then starts furiously rooting. Then the crying starts. I take him out and put him in the bouncer or comfort nurse him for a minute and he’s fine again. While he’s in the carrier I’ve tried moving around like normal, bouncing with him, standing still, singing to him, but no luck.

Am I missing something or do I just have a baby who hates carriers? I’ve ordered two more, both of the wildbird ones, but if they don’t work I’ll probably stop trying. Is he maybe just too young?

Would love any advice!

Please put my mind at ease about 2 month vaccines

I’m not anti-vax by any means so please don’t come for me.

I just am so nervous about him getting a fever. My anxiety has lessened for sure since those first couple weeks home, but I still worry like crazy once the sun goes down, and specifically about SIDS. My baby is a great sleeper but it also scares me to let him sleep so long. I just know if he gets a fever I’m going to be watching him sleep all night long, especially heading into the period where SIDS becomes highest chance. Feeling especially nervous about the rotavirus vaccine since I’ve read so many horror stories lately.

I obviously want to hear anything I should be concerned about or things I need to look out for, but would also love to hear some stories of uneventful vaccinations / minor reactions. Please put my mind at ease a bit!
