I have a piece of silver maple 6 ft long 5 inches in diameter. There is a hole running through due to ants and it appears to be centered. How do I bore out the hole to run a wire to make it a floor lamp?

My mom's 76th bday is coming up where should I take her to dinner? She loves prime rib and seafood, not a picky eater no dietary issues. Give me recommendations. Not worried about cost.
