I think it’s a moth but not sure that it’s a cocoon…perhaps it’s a moth that’s some spider’s lunch?

A little off topic but I thought this might be the best community to ask…

I am trying to get my neck imaged for a lump that’s painful and has been around for a bit.

My ENT ordered an ultrasound and they saw an enlarged lymph node and want to do a CT of it.

They’re saying that it’s order with and without contrast…historically I’ve avoided contrast because a doc once told me that if it’s possible to avoid it, try to while I’m young.

Am I wrong for trying to request only without contrast?

Anyone have any experience in this specific situation?

Thanks.

“Move Ya Body: The Birth of House” Documentary

Just watched it and was wondering if anyone else has seen it? I thought it was pretty good and lots of stuff I didn’t realize.

Please delete if not allowed. I posted this in the hypermobility subreddit and the comments kept mentioning MCAS which I have never looked into or really understood. I’m really just searching for similar stories because I want to avoid being in pain again if possible. Here’s my recent experience:

Has anyone had a back muscle release trigger a week long saga of headaches and back pain?

Went and did dry needling on my back on a Monday with my PT. Done it a million times before and walked out feeling fantastic. Hours later the worst headache of my life started and lasted for 3 days. Days 4 and 5 occasionally had headaches but not as bad. But the lower back pain began and day 6 was so bad I went to the urgent care. They did imaging and found no evidence of something wrong with my back. All week long all my vitals were totally fine, no other symptoms of illness etc. Day 7 and everything is gone like it never happened.

I have a history of childhood trauma as well as other trauma from other parts of my life. Also a lifelong athlete. I also have stage 3 endometriosis with some of it attached to my rectum/colon. Just in case any of that helps my question.

Has anyone else ever had a muscle release—either via massage or dry needling etc—cause similar symptoms?

I looked through Triwest’s website and the find a network provider for Urgent Care facilities near me. I don’t have a PCM on my TRS plan (by choice for now) so I assume urgent care would be the place to go for near immediate assistance but not ER worthy.

If they take TRS, how does the process work at Urgent Care? Do they send you a copay bill later?

Thanks.

Hypermobile (diagnosed) without an official EDS diagnosis (highly suspected).

I have had the most terrible headache for the last two days. No OTC pain killers can touch it. It is one that you can feel the pressure changes in your head when leaning over or coughing or sitting to standing etc. Massages didn’t help in the neck and shoulder area. Laying down and standing are okay-ish.

I didn’t really think of CSF headache today until I was driving home and started losing my hearing. Like when you’re in an airplane and you can’t clear your ears as the cabin pressurizes. It continued while sitting at home and I kept trying to clear my ears/valsalva out of habit.

Could this be a CSF leak headache? My decision point for medical care will be if it doesn’t dissipate by day 3.

Thanks.
