Newest MRI

had surgery May 2025. My syrinx is unchanged. But there was something added this time and I just want some thoughts on what this could mean? it says “The phase image demonstrates CSF flow, ventral more than dorsal, at the cervical medullary junction.”

Any ideas or knowledge is appreciated.

Weird leg pain

Since I was younger I’ve had this arm and leg pain. it’s like a deep ache. it comes and goes. sometimes responds to a HOT bath (can’t do that often as I have POTS on top of other illnesses). I will also lay on top on my leg(s). like have them so I’m laying on them with my chest/stomach and after a while the pain will slowly subside. I’m just wondering if anyone else has this? I was decompressed last year, Chiari 1.5.

[VA] Discovery?

What did discovery look like for you? With or without an attorney? We can’t afford one but ex has one. Not married. Ex is unwilling to compromise. judge said we will be doing discovery. Just trying to get an idea of what this will be like. Very high conflict coparent.

Alternative to retinol creams?

officially diagnosed now and the doctor told me to stop using my face serum that contains retinol. What is everyone else using for fine lines? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Neuro ophthalmology first appointment.

hello, so I will start this by saying I’ve never had an LP. I have Chiari and currently still have a syrinx in my spine. I was presumably diagnosed before my Chiari surgery and started on Diamox. Diamox has been a lifesaver. I trialed off of the Diamox with a return of my presumed IIH symptoms. I’ve seen my regular eye doctors, optic nerves appeared fine, some thickened tissue, but no swelling or paps. MRIs appear normal minus my Chiari and syrinx. I did have visual symptoms before upping my Diamox dose. my vision appeared dark around the edges and we changed every light bulb in the house because everything looked so dark. I know eventually an LP will occur. I am being seen by neuro-optho in hopes that I’ll eventually get in with this bigger hospital to have that done (I’m nervous having the syrinx still). Neurosurgery said an MRV isn’t “needed” as treatment wouldn’t change and “shunts fail”. I do have some visual field loss. Just a small area in my peripheral vision that my other eye compensates for, it was not there last year. If you’ve read this far, thank you.

I guess I’m just wondering what to expect at my first appointment tomorrow. I know an LP is the gold standard, at the moment we are just hesitant due to my syrinx, which hopefully will be resolved soon.
