la sportiva prodigio pro insole creep/squeak?

i'm on my 5th or 6th pair of LS prodigio pro. this shoe really works for me. however my latest pair is doing something i've never experienced before. the insole is squeaking and moving up the sides of the shoe during runs, especially if they get a bit wet. i'm wearing the same size as all previous pairs, they fit perfect, so that's not the issue.

anyone else experienced this or had luck contact LS for a replacement? they are unusable in training and racing like this.

Is digital minimalism turning us into device maximalists?

I've noticed countless posts in this sub where people are like "finally gave up my smartphone and replaced it with this array of EDC items", followed by a photo of several daily carry digital devices like a dumbphone, e-reader, mp3 player, and digital camera.

Maybe I'm just unclear about what we're trying to achieve here as a culture. It seems like there are two major strands defining DM as either

  1. Living like it's the early 00s or late 90s device-wise, i.e., owning your own files, rejecting subscriptions and social media, having dedicated purpose devices instead of catchall, or...
  2. Altogether reducing and compacting one's overall dependency & footprint on digital devices and networks. To this extent, an iphone with only the bare essential apps and exercising self-control with social media seems far more minimalist than breaking one device down into many.

Has anyone else noticed this tension? And I guess, more broadly, I'm curious how others interpret the digital minimalist ethos.

AITA for suggesting my brother and his gf get an airbnb in my town?

I live in a small town in France. I have two brothers: one lives in the US with my parents, the other in Germany. My parents are coming to Europe with the US brother for a couple weeks to visit. They're spending the first 7-8 days with the Germany brother and his gf, then their plan is to come here for the rest before flying home.

I share this 2 bedroom apartment with my gf. We work remotely and the small 2nd bedroom we use as an office. It has a bed for 1 person. The living room has a couch. There is 1 small bathroom. So, when they come to stay with us, it's a stretch, but doable.

However my family notoriously is chaotic at planning and my parents will often have separate convos with me and my brothers, so no one is ever fully in the loop until the last minute.

On the most recent call I had with them, they said my Germany brother and his gf will also join us at my place for the last 2-3 days of the trip. That will make 7 people in total here. For reference, this place is about 55m2.

This wasn't part of the original plan, and it was made without asking me about it first. When I heard this, I said 7 people here is madness, and that it's best for the Germany brother and his gf, who are both employed, to get an airbnb here in town (it's a very small town, less than 1,000 people, so an airbnb will be walking distance away).

This created an instant drama, with the US brother saying that if 7 people isn't doable, then neither is 5, and that I'm implying they should also get an airbnb (I'm not implying that). My mom said they probably shouldn't come to my town at all, and we should all just meet somewhere in the middle. Then she said she was gonna cry, hung up the phone, and texted me she was going to just cancel the whole trip.

Important context is that for some reason, my parents and brothers all think it's incredibly taboo to have to pay for lodgings if they're visiting family. They really struggle with the concept that a place might be too small or too inconvenient to host a lot of people. I'm already gonna buy a bigger fold-out bed for the spare room to accomodate them, which also means more bedding and so on, and money is tight as it is.

AITA for suggesting my other bro and his gf get an airbnb because of the size constraints at my apartment?

How to turn off garbage Strava AI?

Literally nobody asked for this useless AI summary on our activities. All it's achieving is killing the environment we exercise in (look up data center impact on clean water and energy). How do I turn this junk off?
