Best preferably flat, scenic bike routes accessible by GO Train? (Foldable bike friendly)

Hi everyone

My friend and I have foldable bikes and want to use the GO Train to reach areas out of Toronto.

We're looking for recommendations for routes that are mostly flat for easy cruising, mostly paved away from heavy traffic.

We want to start riding at one GO station and maybe finish at a different one or it could be a loop.

Thanks in advance!

Takachia C16/C20 owners: How reliable are the frame hinges and steering post hinges, and are they serviceable?

Hello everyone!

I’m looking into getting a Takachia Tiime Series trifold bike (specifically eyeing the C16 model). Overall, the specs look solid, but looking closely at the main frame hinge and the handle bar support, the hinge pins appear to be completely closed or sealed rather than having a traditional removable bolt, screw, or pin set.

For long-term owners of the C16 or C20:

  1. How has the hinge reliability been? Have you noticed any play, flexing, or creaking developing over time in the steering post or main frame after heavy use?
  2. Are they actually replaceable? If a hinge pin ever wears out or gets loose, how do you service it if it's a sealed design? Do you have to send it back to a dealer, or is there a way to press them out and replace them?

I love the portability of these trifolds, but I want to make sure the handle bar support and frame won't develop unfixable slop down the road.

Appreciate any insight or experiences from current owners or mechanics who have worked on them!

Thanks!

Is $450 a fair price for a MEC Origamie bike?

hello community.

Found this MEC Origami used in Kijiji, judging by the real pics the seller sent me, the bike looks almost brand new. it's the old version of the Origami, no disk brakes.

Wondering if $450 is a good price. To me, it seems a bit high but haven't been in the market for long time.

Is it legal for my landlord to ban bicycles inside rent-controlled units?

Hi everyone,

My building management (Shiplake - Apartment Building not condos) recently posted a notice regarding a "Bike Audit," requiring residents to get an identification sticker for any bike in the interior racks and designated bike rooms, but they sneaked in a major change at the bottom.

The new policy states:

"Additionally, for the safety and comfort of all residents, bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters are not permitted in elevators or within residential suites."

I live in a rent-controlled unit and currently store a $1,200 bike (non electric) on my balcony because I don’t trust communal bike rooms/racks (which are notorious for thefts in Toronto).

Can management actually enforce this? and if not, how should I approach to it? I don't really want to initiate a battle, specially because I'm dealing with a painful life altering situation right now and my mind is just not there to deal with more conflict. But at the same time, I want to have the freedom to take mi bike out without any issues or retaliation.

Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to convert this board to an LDP?

Hello community.

I'm a total newbie in the longboard world. Reaching out for some guidance.

Is it possible to convert my current longhoard into an LDP? if so, what exactly would I need to get?

Thanks in advance.
