Rarely See the HPD Wheels on a Ridgeline

You very rarely see the all black or the machined finish alloy wheels on a Ridgeline.

I gather that they cost $1700 and $1800 for just a different aesthetic.

2026 Kicks Oil Change and the Skid Plate.

Hello all.

A buddy of mine bought a Nissan Kicks and it looks like there are crapload of bolts and push pins to take off.

I am sure he will be asking me is there an easy way to do this? Has anyone come up with clever ways to do the oil drain plug and filter?

Thanks.

Wanting to get a full size spare.

Wanting to get a full size spare for the Ridgeline.  The spare will only be taken if I go on a trip.  The rest of the time it will be stored in the basement and the temp spare will have to be used.

I was looking around for a used rim, but some of the used rims online are pretty beat up and have corrosion.  Also, the used rims aren't really that much cheaper.

I found this on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Factory-Wheel-Replacement-Machined-ALY63148U35N/dp/B0D6WKRBJG

It has the proper 64.1 hub bore as well.

What I am asking are these aftermarket OEM style rims just or will they do the job.  I looked into a steel wheel, but they want just about the same price.

Once I get a rim, I will need to procure a tire.  Any recommendations on a 245 60 R18 tire that is cheap and reliable?

Thanks.

Why People Let Their Cars Get So Filthy?

I am just wanting to get this off my chest. I have friends that are complete PIGS in their vehicles. I've asked them and they just look at me. It's a freaking pigsty.

I cannot stand having my car interior or exterior look dirty.

Any thoughts as to why people let their cars get so disgusting? Vehicles are expensive, they need care.

Update: Passenger Footwell Light Installed.

I installed the driver's side footwell in this thread.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hondaridgeline/comments/1t8xg68/one_half_of_the_footwell_lights_installed/

I finished up the job tonight.

I was able to run a wire over to the passenger side. There are two panels that need to be pulled off the console, one from the driver, and one from the passenger. There is a footwell plastic shroud under the glove box that needs to be un-clipped on the passenger side. Once the panels are off, you can easily see from one side to the other. I used a coat hanger to pull the wire through. After that I simply used solderless crimp terminals to attach the T5 LED and its socket to the wire. On the other end there is a second set of wires from the Y harness I ordered from Honda. I crimped the wires to there.

I uploaded both pics.

I really like how they both turned out.

Question: How to Get the Inside of Windshield Clean.

I have tried for a long time to get the inside of the windshield clean. I can clean all the other windows, but the windshield requires the most effort and I just can never get it looking as good as I would like.

I have used windex, foaming glass cleaner, soapy water, etc. What I have found works best for me is to dampen a microfiber towel with a couple of drops of dish soap, rinse towel really good, ring out towel thoroughly, then clean inside of windshield.

Is it common to have to work this hard to get the inside windshield clean.

Thanks.

One Half of the Footwell Lights Installed

I got the harness that allows me to hook up the plug that the illuminated step uses.

Part No.: 08E12-TG7-10030.  The harness was about $25 shipped.

https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuine/honda~harness~step~illuminated~08e12-tg7-10030.html

I used a T5 LED as the light:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D9VLQXQ7?th=1

I found these T5 LED sockets on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08M94P5MB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Installing the harness was pretty easy on the driver's side.  I then zip tied the wiring and re-affixed the lower dash.

I was able to tap off the harness to power the LED.  I think the T5 LED gives just the right amount of light to the footwell.  My next task is to either run a red/black wire from the driver to the passenger side, it looks like there is little to no room to thread a wire.  If anyone has found a somewhat un-painful way to to get wires from driver to passenger footwell, I am all ears.

I have included a pic of the driver's footwell light.  I really like how it turned out.

Went and got a car wash. Vacuumed out truck.

Did a spot dry with a damp microfiber towel.

I used Simoniz cleaning wipes on dash, console, and door panels.

Use damp microfiber towel to clean windows, inside and out.

Used a wet rag to clean the exterior plastics. Used Armor All original on the exterior plastic. I popped hood to clean plastic under hood and used Armor All on the under hood plastics too.

Used Armor All tire spray on tires to make them shine.

I used some Turtle Wax Wax and Dry on the tailgate.

Topped it off with Rain-X applied to windshield.

Looks better and it's clean.

Excuse the tires, the tire shine was still drying.

I am wanting to add footwell lighting to my 2026 Ridgeline. My issue is tapping into the dome light power. I want the footwell lights to come on when the dome light comes on and turn off when the dome light turns off.

From reading it looks like a switched ground is used? Has anyone tapped into the dome light power?

Thanks.

I had a thread wanting to paint my Enkei center caps. I was able to mask off the logo. Not bad for my first try.

Looks good using 3 foot rule.
