My first game on my PS5 and my very first platinum !!

The title!!

I had my eyes on this game since a long time and it was definitely worth it.

Next in line is Ghost of Tsushima. I've heard a lot of praise on this one, looking forward.

Plenty of stock at Games the shop

The title basically. I checked at Inifinity Malad and they had atleast 15 pieces. I went there to buy some PS5 disc games. They are also running amazing discounts on discs.

Crossed ₹1 Crore in Mutual Funds at 28. Started Investing From My First Salary 6 Years Ago

Today marks exactly 6 years since I started my first job. I was 22 then, and from my very first salary I started investing in mutual funds through SIPs.

Today, at 28, my mutual fund portfolio crossed the ₹1 crore mark.

- Invested amount: ~₹74.3 lakh

- Current value: ~₹1.01 crore

There was no inheritance, ESOP windfall, startup exit, or sudden lucky break behind this. It was simply a combination of increasing my investments whenever my salary grew, staying invested through market ups and downs, and avoiding lifestyle inflation as much as possible.

Looking back, the biggest lesson for me wasn't picking the "best" mutual fund. It was consistency. Investing every month, especially in the early years when the amounts felt small, made all the difference.

Crossing ₹1 crore doesn't change my investment philosophy. It just feels like an important personal milestone after six years of disciplined investing.

I'm sharing this not to compare with anyone, but because posts like these motivated me when I was starting out. If someone is in their early 20s wondering whether those first few SIPs matter, they absolutely do.

I'd also love to hear from others who reached similar milestones. What changes, if any, did you make to your investment strategy after crossing ₹1 crore? Did you start diversifying internationally, or did you continue with the same approach?

Edit: A few people asked about my investment journey, so adding some background here.

I'm in software engineering (non-FAANG), so there were no RSUs or ESOPs involved. My first month's investment was much larger because I received a joining bonus. From my second salary onwards, I consistently invested around ₹50–60k/month. Since it was during the COVID work-from-home period, my expenses were quite low. When I moved to my work location, my monthly investments reduced because of rent and other living expenses.

As my salary grew through hikes and promotions, I gradually increased my investments. Once I crossed ₹1 lakh/month, I started allocating across a few different mutual funds and later added Gold ETFs and a Contra fund for diversification.

I've always had a long investment horizon and stayed aggressive towards equity. I never withdrew money or changed my allocation because of market movements. There were many occasions where I invested and the market fell sharply the very next day, but I stayed the course and kept investing.

I don't generally recommend specific mutual funds because everyone's goals and risk tolerance are different. For me, consistency and not reacting to short-term market movements mattered much more than trying to time the market.
