My mother [58] has been a chronic schizophrenic patient most of her life, had a pretty “normal” life, but had 3 very bad psychotic episodes in the last 2 years( last year’s was way worse she had to be hospitalised) due to which she had not returned to her previous baseline. She’s on medication, she has hallucinations all the time and speaks to the skies and god (and sometimes my dead dad and estranged son).

I’d been the only caretaker for her and I have to get her to do her own chores everyday, like showering, brushing teeth, having food etc. I’m mostly very patient with her and try to convince her softly for all these. But lately she’s refusing to take a shower, it’s been 9 days now and I tried so many things but she’s just not budging, and she gets irritated. She says that god is bathing her everyday in sleep so she doesn’t have to take a bath again.

I don’t know what to do anymore, it was never this long before, usually if she goes 3-5 days without shower, she somehow agrees after. I just expect basic hygiene.. I also offered to wash her myself(a woman). Please give some suggestions on how to handle this if you had been in similar situations. TIA 🫶🏽

Small rant-

I posted my outfit pictures in telugu fashion sub and i got a dm from someone who was hating a lot on my post, saying asalu enti aa dressing sense, old style, fashion telsuko etc etc ani pedda paragraph lu rasadu. Adi comment ga kuda pettochu kani aa dammu undadu.

First of all some random post mida antha bitter and entitled ga undataniki tana life entha worsht ga undo. Second, fashion doesn’t mean latest trends or fast fashion my fashion and style is my own, naku nachhe comfortable clothes. I don’t like spending a b0mb before every photoshoot or vacation, I hate fast fashion and like to reuse my own clothes. Third, as a man, why do you think you know more about women’s fashion than me anni muskoni kurchovachu ila random women dms lo doori bully cheydanki try cheyakunda. Idk why ppl like this can’t mind their own business.

I would forget this in some time but needed to rant a bit. I hope some bird sh*ts in his mouth today, maybe that would stop him from being bitter and hateful to something as harmless as this. People can have opinions and post publicly, just don’t slide into women’s dms get a life man

Tl;dr- ranting coz I had to see hateful comments on my outfit post today morning

Saw an insta reel where a woman is kissing her husband’s feet saying she realised that her husband is god after seeing that 370 ka kalesh. And she’s fully proud of it. There are other women in the comments supporting her actions. What is the rationale behind it? Apparently it’s not affecting self respect accc to them. Makes my stomach twist.
