Is there anyway I can convince my parents to let me listen to rap music?
Hello I'm a teen and I'm pimo. my dad just recently left the organization but he still believes in Jehovah and wants to please him. my mom on the other hand is still in the organization but she watches some stuff that the organization wouldn't approve of like near death experiences n stuff. we don't go to the meetings in person anymore but my mom likes to go on zoom my dad never goes anymore at all. a year or so ago I started listening to rap music and it actually helped me wake up and realize this religion or more so cult is all a lie. I never told my parents that I woke up tho or started to listen to rap. I love rap music because it's part of who I am. one time I did get caught with rap posters up though and I got yelled at and I had to take them down. I just wish my parents could see rap from my perspective. I was wondering is there anyway I could at least try to bring it up and maybe even make my parents accept it? they don't even have to like it I just wish they'd accept it because then I'd feel accepted u know? but I just wanted to ask for some advice on here about it the rap I listen to is quite explicit but most of the songs do hold a lot of meaning to them than just the explicit stuff.
