Is it okay if I dated a 22 year old guy as an 18 year old girl who just finished highschool?
To be exact with the numbers, he is 3 years and 6 months older than me. He’s already graduating from college next month and I’m just about to be a freshman this August and I find the odds funny lol.

PERSONALLY, now that I’m 18, I don’t really mind dating anyone older than me and I’m being careful around dynamics and all that. I am being mindful. I’m trying to be.

I’ve asked my older sister, who’s 19, about a dating advice because I’ve NEVER had a boyfriend the other day, and the first thing she ever said was for me to stay away from older guys, and she heavily emphasized “anyone who’s older than 21 is a no, although 21 in itself is questionable.”

So this really planted a worry in my brain.

I haven’t really seen much more of people saying that 18 and 22 is bad… so now I’m here.
I really am starting to like this guy because he’s the sweetest soul ever, and he has expressed the same liking towards me. Rn we’re still friends and I would love to cultivate the friendship more before anything romantic with him. But I can definitely see us being in a relationship in the future. He told me I’m someone he could see courting in the future, although he said it lightheartedly while we were laughing around. I wanna take things slow because I’ve never had a boyfriend or any experiences at 18 romantically.

(Important note: we started being friends when I was 18 already!!! he didn’t know me yet when I was 17. We started being friends this March, so the friendship is quite new.)
