Hi all. 2015 RAV 4 XLE AWD. 160k. Well maintained.

Just got back from the dealership. In between my last oil change and now my car started burning more oil. They said when the car came in, there was no oil on the dipstick and possibly 2 quarts drained. But no leaks detected. They wanted me to do a $250 oil consumption test, but I needed a night to sleep on it since the dealership has upsold me on many things in the past.

I am considering doing the test, but does anyone have any guesses as to what is going on? Something that may be related is that I’ve been driving more long distance trips since the last change.

Guy at Autozone said use a thicker oil. I consulted AI who mentioned this is common for this year make/model/engine type/mileage and just keep an extra quart in the car and monitor the dipstick every 1k miles until I’m ready to do the test.

Just wanted to consult this community too. I want this car to have a long life.

Hi all! I’m planning on relocating from LA. I’m a professional musician looking to connect with the same up there. My primary focus is performing, writing and producing for sync and artists.

Ideally, looking to connect with other instrumentalists, songwriters, artists, composers and producers in TO and the surrounding area. Also if there are any secret venues or cool event spaces to check out, I’d love to learn about those.
