Managing melasma in pregnancy

Managing melasma in pregnancy

So I planned on doing some peels before summer but then I got pregnant. My melasma hasn’t necessarily gotten worse during pregnancy *yet* .. it pretty much looked like this already. I had taken a break from hydroquinone because it lightened my melasma but didn’t erase it. Jessners peels with other topical ingredients were working pretty well for me in managing it but I was doing the peels at home and felt nervous about that (but they did work pretty well) the downtime was just not great.

Anyway I was going to do another peel and then learned I was pregnant. Because it’s summer my melasma has gotten worse for sure. I’m currently using vitamin c serum and azelaic acid 15% as my main melasma combative products as well as the obvious SPF, but I’m wondering if anyone else has had success in at least lightening their melasma during pregnancy? Any procedures or beauty treatments that I can get done? I’m looking to do some low level fraxel once this baby’s out or picolaser. It’s just so bad right now and it’s hard to cover with make up. Any safe mandelic peels or something of the sort? Is my LED red light mask safe to use? Or maybe a green light one? Idk how I can get through 6 more months of this😓

Facial and beauty treatments?

I’m 12 weeks and have struggled with melasma for years before I was pregnant. I got pregnant before I was able to do a few peels before summer, as I like to do to try to manage it before and after the summer season, since I will never give up the beach (I already use all the topical products I can, wear a hat, all the things)… my question is, is a PRP facial and/or microneedling safe while pregnant and effective at managing melasma? It’s really bad right now and I just dont want to wait until March to start some hardcore products or picosure to lighten it as much as possible.

Prenatal Strength ?

I typically use my Peloton tread for strength, hikes, yoga and stretching. Should I just modify workouts or stick to a prenatal routine? For core I have been doing specific pelvic floor routines or classes. I’m currently 11 weeks 5 days. Just got back into working out because that first trimester fatigue is REAL. Trying not to push myself, but still trying to feel like I got in a good workout? Thoughts and suggestions? I have a friend that said she did sculpt society but I read people saying it was too easy..

Looking for input from anyone that has worked as a teacher for the Eastern Suffolk BOCES Enrichment program. Is it worth it? Looking for some summer employment as a full time teacher and thinking of applying.
