For those working in EHR Application/Analyst/Clinical Informatics roles, how's your work life balance?

Hi all, just curious to hear about those working in clinical informatics roles (analyst, HIS specialist, etc) how is your work/life balance, especially if you have a family or young children? I work in bedside right now and am thinking of transitioning into informatics and work-life balance is one of the things I am considering. For those who have made the transition, how does your current role compare to bedside in terms of hours, stress, flexibility, remote/hybrid work, and being able to manage family responsibilities? Would love to hear about your experiences if you are in similar situations and/or if you have young children.

Best Property management company for rent?

Hi all, I've been looking to rent in Toronto and I'm looking for a building that is run by property management. I also have two young children so I'm wondering what are some good properties to look at and which to avoid? Had a bad experience with infestations before so Im trying to avoid that. I was looking at some like Homestead, Buttonwood PM, Park Property Management, etc. Also if they had insuite laundry that would be a plus. Thanks!

getting baby and toddler to sleep in same room

hi all! I‘ve come here for some advice about getting my toddler (3 yrs old) and my baby (10 month old) to sleep in the same room. we live in a 2 bdrm apartment and my 10 month old has been sleeping in her own room since she was 6 months. my toddler (who once used to sleep alone) ended up always coming into our bed & because we were dealing with the whole transition from 1-2, personal life situations and with my husband working a lot I just let him co-sleep with me because I was always so exhausted by the end of the day. but now we’ve decided that we want to get him his own bed and transition him into the room with the baby since she now sleeps throughout the night.

he was so excited for his new bed and when we initially would put them down for bed they both would be sound asleep….until around midnight. he would wake up looking for us. we would constantly be bringing him back to his bed and reassuring him, giving him kisses goodnight and tucking him back in. but it’s been getting tough. the back and forth can last for 2-3 hours before he sleeps. on one of the nights I gave up after 2.5 hours and let him sleep with me. then we went back to sticking to his room. and now he wakes the baby up too and getting her back down is also another battle. it’s been day 4 of this and I know it takes a while before they adjust to their own bed and own room but it feels like we’re running in a loop. not sure if we’re doing something wrong but I’d appreciate any advice from anyone who’s gone through this transition and any tips you may have. are we doing this too soon with the baby? any tips and advice are very much appreciated.

North Etobicoke apartments for rent?

Hi all, I was wondering what are some good apartments in North Etobicoke for rent (possibly 2 bdr)? Looking for something clean, sanitary and has insuite laundry. A lot of the older apartments that are renovated unfortunately, do not have in-suite laundry. I do have some time as I am not moving immediately but would like to hear any suggestions. I'm also willing to look near the Vaughan area and North York too. Thanks!

3 year old scared of swimming

hi there! wanting to seek some advice regarding toddler swim. we just signed my 3 year old up for swim lessons (with a parent in the pool for support) and he is so terrified. he Clung onto his dad the whole time was very fearful of holding any of the toys or even kicking his feet. we had to leave the class early because he was so scared and just kept screaming. we used to take him to swim classes when he was 7month until 10 months but had to stop for personal reasons and ofc that’s something he doesn’t remember. so we are trying to be to re-introduce him to the water through these 30 minute swim classes, but he does not seem to be a fan. should we continue going to the classes hoping he will slowly get used to it or should we just stop it all together and try when he is older?
