How a post removed by mods looks vs one by a user

Just in case people were wondering, how it looks when a post is removed by a mod vs when a user just deleted it -- the user deleted will show [deleted] for the user name and the post content.

Mod removed posts will still show the user name, post content and show "this post was removed by the mods". Posts can then be deleted by the original poster, but the post is mostly saved in its entirety -- it can be restored just as is, it is not truly "deleted". Only a user can completely erase a post.

Also, this means when a post or comment is removed and someone else doesn't agree, there is quite literally nothing stopping them from just re-approving it and having it reposted -- it is not deleted or "lost" just removed. It still exists, unless the user deletes it.

Just in case there were any questions about reddit UI, mod permisisons and BTS stuff 🥰

Toodles

Sunny

ETA -- the first post was removed for breaking fight club, and crossposting from a sub that has requested to not be crossposted, not anything to do with the content being discussed.

A reminder about touching the poop and rule update

I can't say that this is from a redditor from here but it is word for word from comments on a post made here, on a FB post with relatively small reach long after the FB post was made (vs yesterday when the sales post was made).

But in case it's not clear, this shit is unacceptable.

We can discuss, we can argue, we can bullshit, we can rubberneck on the internet -- whatever. But do not bring that into other people's pages, interact with them, and otherwise disrupt someone else's business.

If someone doesn't pull AQHA panels for a horse they want to spend 30k on, or check their show record, or you know, have a conversation with the seller or trainer about the horse in question so all those things are unknown -- that is a complete lack of research and the buyers issue. Not your issue to provide 'clarity' on.

The only reason this horse got posted is because of a distant connection to KVS -- if there wasn't that connection, would anyone care to post clarity or comment like this?

No. This is parasocial. Get out of people's business.

As a reminder, touching the poop/going IRL is an insta-ban. And until further notice, sales ads that are pending sales are not allowed because we can't have nice things.

Mods are Asleep, post off topic shit here

Anything KVS, Denver, Horse-related from this thread will be removed, and new threads will be locked for a bit

I'm joking, but only a little because posts are coming in way too fast. I think everyone -- mods, users, y'all-- needs a break for a bit.

Until morning, new posts to the subreddit that are posted will be locked.

You can post here in this thread but I only want off topic, goofy meme shit that has nothing to do with horses. At least for a couple of hours.

Peace, love, etc and all of that

To the surprise of no one...

Knox has a soft appointment in the fall (when it's cooler, so less flies when there's a wound healing) to make someone a terrific gelding.

She said in the video that he is softly for sale even though they intend on keeping him until he is under saddle.

I don't think this is a huge surprise -- I'm in the very small Knox fan club, and even I'm ok with him being a great gelding for some one. I'm interested to see where he ends up! I think he's super cute and could make someone very happy, even if he's a little... Awkward right now 😂

RS Ironclad Alibi (Moose)

(📷 of Moose from Ironwood)

Ironwood shared yesterday, Moose had a catastrophic pasture accident resulting in a broken front leg. He was able to be splinted very quickly by a vet, and go in for scans but it was determined that the break was severe enough that it would be extremely unlikely that he would even be pasture sound (5% chance).

With those odds, they let him go.

Horses are fast, and heavy and powerful-- which can be devastating in just the wrong moment with physics get involved.

This should be a solemn reminder that *even with the best of everything*, shit can happen that *no one* expects and it is no one's fault.

The mod team wishes good thoughts and warm feelings for everyone at RS and Ironwood who loved Moose and knew him.

Y'all, we need to have a little talk

This is not a PSA that is directed towards a particular group, people, person or etc -- because I've seen it across the board, on a variety of opinions and differing levels of criticism or praise. It is an overall behavior trend that I am trying to address, so I humbly ask all of you...

HEY CAN Y'ALL PLEASE CHILL THE EFF OUT

(said with all the love in the world tho❤️)

There has been an uprise in more aggressive comments and responses to differing opinions (critical and positive), and quite frankly -- don't act like 'those fans' (or 'not fans'). Be better. Be respectful. If someone is giving an opinion that you don't agree with, and you can't articulate it in a way that isn't sharp/sarcastic/snarky? Don't say it. Re-read what you write, and ask yourself if you would respond calmly to it.

And, if someone responds and you think they are full of beans, but you can't articulate being disagreed with in a way that isn't snarky or sharp? Don't engage. You can even block if you really need to keep your peace

I will completely acknowledge that this sub leans more positive then not, but as with anything -- there is always criticism and there is always room to grow. People will have different backgrounds, different experiences, come from a different point of view -- be respectful to each other in spite of those differences.

Give grace to people -- some people may be coming from a different language, may be neurodivergent in a way where something blunt can come across as abrupt or rude. I've seen some conversations just escalate when no one is 'wrong', just the tone is misinterpreted.

Give grace. Be kind. Be thoughtful. Be good.

If someone is being over the top, or overly rude to you -- please use the report feature to flag it. Me and Pen keep a tab on the comments, but obviously we can miss things. Reporting it flags us to let us know something is up and users who are being overly rude/negative/etc will be dealt with. If you have a concern or any questions -- mod mail is also always open, and it will be in confidence.

I've been saying I'm going to do a post for rules for like months, and I will, but please feel free to ask for clarity on rules or if you have a suggestion. It may not be implemented, but I'm happy to hear things that you think might help.

Sunny, what about the downvotes on my comments?

Hand to god, if I could disable them I would. Lots of people come through and downvote for various reasons, whether it's because there's a critical thought or a positive one. I don't have a good answer for it. But even with the more critical opinions (read: critical, not snarky or cruel), even if I don't agree with everything, I value the input and extra perspectives. I wish it wasn't so all over the place, and I hope it doesn't deter anyone.

Tl;Dr -- BE NICE TO EACH OTHER PLEASE AND DON'T ACT LIKE THE FACEBOOK SUBGROUP TO EACH OTHER I S2G
