I have the worst luck who sits next to me at Alamo Drafthouse Lamar

Went and saw "The Invite" tonight. I knew I was in trouble when a middle-aged woman next to me was talking during the first few minutes of the movie. Somewhere in the middle of the movie she basically gave a hallelujah when "marriage is awful," was mentioned and the shit that got me boiling was when there was a scene where a Sade song was playing and she goes "I LOVE THIS SONG" AND SHE SANG ALONG like a goddamn karaoke hour. I have have never experience something like this ever before in my Alamo life that's not a sing-a-long. AITAH for getting so mad and upset that she sang the song word for word? For those who have seen this movie, it would cut between couples, so she would sing, stop, sing, stop. It was so frustrating. Moving forward, I'm going to do that thing where I buy tickets on the aisle and cancel the seat next to me last minute so I create a buffer. No more of this bullshit. I can't believe my luck as of late. And yes, reporting does NOTHING.

This has been the 4th movie this year where the person next to me can't shut the hell up.

Overwhelmed by systems

My Fourth of July weekend will be putting in some hours into this game. What’s overwhelming me to constantly put the controller down are the materia, mini games, card games(?) and now there’s a crafting system?! I also noticed we can create preload outs and I don’t know how to manage that.

So am I over reacting? I just want to get through the game and not follow a guide.

Do you have any tips on what I can ignore or focus on?

I enjoyed VII Remake and finished it and part of me wonder if the pandemic contribute to me just playing that all the way.

Are there video recaps?

Is there a youtube channel you watch that gives sportscenter like recaps for NPB games? When I was in Japan last month the news would do a quick run down of league and updates to some of the players Stateside. English preferred but also I'm trying to learn the league.

Is my configuration correct?

Connector Swap Note: Originally CPU_FAN was connected to the radiator fans and CPU_OPT was connected to the pump. I swapped them so the pump is now on CPU_FAN and the radiator fans are on CPU_OPT. After the swap, Fan #1 reads ~3300 RPM (pump behavior) and Fan #5 reads ~2400 RPM (fan behavior). Temps improved slightly but still hitting 93-94°C under gaming load.

My Setup:

  • Case: be quiet! Dark Base 701
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X870E AORUS Elite WiFi7
  • AIO: be quiet! Silent Loop 3 (360mm, exhausting out top of case)
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080
  • PSU: Seasonic (Hybrid Mode enabled)
  • Fan Control software: V268, config saved to Desktop/setup.json

Fan Header Connections (after swap):

  • CPU_FAN → AIO pump
  • CPU_OPT → all 3 AIO radiator fans (daisy-chained)
  • be quiet! hub (SATA powered) → 4x Silent Wings case fans

Fan Control Setup:

  • Fan #1 (pump) → Flat curve at 70%
  • Fan #5 (radiator fans) → Linear curve, Core Tctl/Tdie, 69°C/25% to 88°C/100%
  • Fan #2, 3, 4, 6 → grayed out (hub fans, running but not individually readable)
  • be quiet! front panel button held 3 seconds → light OFF = motherboard PWM control mode

Temps:

  • Idle: ~64°C (normal for 9850X3D)
  • Gaming: ~93-94°C (fans hit 100%, audible)

Questions:

  1. Was swapping CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT the right call? Is pump on CPU_FAN correct?
  2. Are 93-94°C gaming temps normal for the 9850X3D under heavy load?
  3. Is Curve Optimizer at -20 a safe starting point for undervolting the 9850X3D?
  4. Any other suggestions for reducing fan noise under gaming load?
  5. No way to control my 3 fans in the front and 1 in the back? I believe they are the grayed out fans from the screenshot.

Fan control question

I got the be quiet dark base 701 case paired with the GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7. I got 3 silent wing fans in the front and one in the back. The front and back are not recognized by Fan Control and I believe I have it plugged in correctly. Are those fans controllable or does it not matter? I think I can also control it by bios but I rather it adjust to what I’m doing. Do I need a special hub or have the connection on the wrong header? Tyia

Hi i am new to the iPad world and was wondering if there’s any insight on an iPad mini pro. I like the response I get from the big iPad Pro that my colleges use but I like a smaller form factor. Are any current iPad minis the same as the pro model or this version will never exist. I am an artist and would like to read comics and browse the web. I really like using the Apple Pencil 2.

My only research was that the mini is due for a refresh either late this fall or next year. Any news or trends I should expect?
