Likelihood of vaginal birth

Hello, I’m ftm, 28 years, 31 weeks currently. I have high bmi, 106 kgs (233 lbs), pre pregnancy 101 kgs. Yesterday, I had a conversation with someone and they asked “have you prepared for c-section?” And I said no, because my OB said there are no factors so far that would require c-section, unless I wanted an elective one and I said no, I would go with vaginal birth unless there is a complication for me or baby, then I’ll be okay c- section.

Now this person goes, “well with your weight, c-section is evident. Dr is just making you feel good.”

Ever since that conversation I have been thinking and researching. Does being plus size mean I can’t have vaginal birth? I don’t have GD, or BP issues or any other thing that would indicate c-section. Getting a C-section isn’t a bad thing, it’s everyone’s choice but I just wanted to go for vaginal delivery always. Anyone with high BMI, what was your birth experience and how difficult was vaginal birth?

Pre procedure brief

Hello, I wanted to ask fellow dentists that when you’re explaining the root canal procedure to patient before treatment, do you tell patient of possibility of broken file or do you provide that information only if the file breaks?

I usually tell my patients before hand, I feel like it helps a lot if you end up separating the file. Recently a senior told me to only provide that information if the file breaks.

Baby is playing me

Hey. I’m 28 w 6 d along. My baby is surely playing me. Three days ago I felt that my baby was moving less, went to hospital. The moment we parked, baby was kicking again. Still got a check up and everything was fine. Today again, felt low movements, got ready to go and there you go baby is back. I’m ftm so I honestly don’t know what movements need to feel like, I was feeling kicks before 28 weeks mostly in morning or evening but now the timings have changed it’s middle of the day till evening and it’s mostly rolling, pushing and trying to burst out of my belly. I’m tired of being anxious. I have never had so much sweet drinks, just to have my baby move than I did in this last week. I’m about to scold my baby in the belly.

Real or fake?

I find it so odd that whenever you ask about course suggestions or if you should take one, there are certain people, almost always same or similar, telling you names of one or two courses and they just slap the course name in reply without giving reason why one should join. I also feel like they’re promoting the course as someone from the specific course team.

Whenever people who genuinely take courses, they always give you pros and cons and how to take the courses. And people who are always like you CANT pass without a course, I always side eye them because that sounds too suspicious. Anyone in my real life who passed exam, always said you can pass without a course, you would just have to research more and find mcqs and mocks. Because even with a course you can’t pass if you’re not putting your all in. Courses give you a basic guidelines, it’s you who study. So yes you can study on your own, watch videos and study with clinically inclined concepts.

There is still credibility on Reddit (there are some fakes ones but you can find real people) but on Facebook if you ever post, there is barely a real comment. Just random people commenting xyz is best. It’s so sad seeing that so many candidates can’t get genuine information because these explorative courses and their teams are running businesses on peoples hard earned money. And the way they present their passing rates is too unreal.

Child birth or vacation

I’m 24 weeks and was researching about what to buy and put in my hospital bag. It’s crazy that every single mom influencer is packing bag like they’re going on a week long vacation and not for child birth. I understand we would want the most comfort but why do I need 7-8 sets of clothes for myself, even if I get a c section. Basic toiletries I get, but why would I need to do extensive body and skin care? I am so overwhelmed.

I made this list for baby hospital bag.

3-4 bodysuits
1-2 (3-6 months) outfits
2 pairs of socks
1-2 hats
Going home outfit
2 swaddles
1 carry nest
Diapers (1 small pack)
Rash cream
Powder
Baby wipes
Burp clothes/ bibs
Baby bottles

What should I put for me?

2-3 outfits (mostly pajamas and one going home outfit)
Basic toiletries, some makeup
Breast pump
Maternity pads
Nursing bras
Pads and diapers

What else do I need for myself or the baby bag?
