The audacity of this mod
I don't want to stoke any controversy between the subs, but the audacity of this mod to say that we're ALL liars and are not telling the truth about why we got banned from that gawdawful sub got on my last godddamn nerve. They're slandering the mods of this sub, who have for the most part removed the posts about these bans, but have been wonderfully supportive to us GenX women as an alternative choice to that horrendous one, just shows how deeply rooted misogyny is rooted in that sub.
Personally, I got banned because I said that I didn't care that Hulk Hogan died because he was a racist/bigoted MAGA supporter, gods forbid you say anything negative about their MAGA heroes. Good riddance you pieces of shit...
Mods, please remove it if this isn't allowed, but I wanted the other ladies/lads/people here to see what they've been saying about us and our mods. Jackasses..
A question for my Cypriot left-leaning compatriots
So, obviously we live in a conservative country where the conservatives, DISY, have had control of the government, for the most part, since we gained our independence. Plus, I think our school system indoctrinates young children to adopt conservative values (i.e. teaching them exclusively about the Orthodox religion from the time they go to school up until they reach Lyceum, teaching them to be very ethnocentric, teaching them exclusively about our traditions, etc.). Most families, our culture and society in general teach us to be conservative as well. This right-leaning way of thinking is pretty strong in Cyprus, and has been for decades.

So, my question to you is how did you NOT adopt this way of thinking and instead adopt left-leaning values? Was your family left-leaning? Did you break away from your conservative family values and become more left-leaning later on in life or were you always left-leaning? If you weren't, why and how did you break away? What was the biggest influence for you to become left-leaning? Has the internet affected the way you think at all? Have your friends or relatives affected you? How has this affected your relationship with your family, especially if they're still conservatives? Were you left-leaning and became conservative as you got older, or vice versa?

I'd love to hear your left-leaning journeys. As for me personally, I was born and raised outside of Cyprus, in a pretty Liberal country until my early teens. Although my parents held strongly to their conservative values (and still do, mind you), our school system in this country teaches us more liberal, left-leaning values (because it's an incredibly multicultural country, with a huge melting pot of a population, and no, it wasn't America lol!), they taught us to value and respect our individual differences, but to treat everyone equally and fairly, with love and respect. We were taught about various cultures, traditions, and religions, not just christianity. Thank the gods, my education affected me more greatly than my parents' narrow-minded conservative way of thinking. I realize now that I wasn't completely immune to their affects on me and I did have some conservative values when I was younger, but the older I get, the more strongly my left-leaning values become. My extended family (conservative boomer aunties and uncles, genx cousins, and family friends) clutch their pearls so damn hard when I tell them I'm left-leaning hahahaha!! Gods forbid someone doesn't have the same values as them and doesn't think the same way they do. To be fair though, a couple of my cousins are a little more open-minded because they lived and studied in America and elsewhere for a few years, so they may hold tight to their own conservative values, but can respect someone else's different opinion. I'm also a GenXer, so I don't know how much being a wild-child in the 80s and early 90s (my most formative years) has affected my values and opinions.

So, I'd love to hear how you came to hold left-leaning values and opinions. How has that affected your life today?
Some of these replies are 🤬
To be fair, though, the majority of them were pretty normal, giving ok advise. These ones are the cream of the crop LMAO!
Will we still needed a channel decoder?
Hey all!!
Just a quick question. My parents have the dream box and we get the Cypriot channels on there. But I was wondering if we'll still need a decoder on the 1st of July? Will it be a waste of money if they get one, or is it still necessary, even though the channels come from a satellite?
Thanks in advance for your help!
So, what do y'all think about ELAM posting this sign near schools?
Personally, I'm a strong LGBTQIA+ ally and it disgusts me that they're allowed to spread their hateful rhetoric. I know there's freedom of speech here, but there must be a limit to propaganda and hate speech.
It makes me wonder what she does in the winter when she has to wear more cloths, though.
>!!<So, I was just watching this on TV for the first time. His step-father is... You guessed it. A serial killer, LMAO!!
Ah, little did he know that he would be following in his footsteps years later.
