Tip: swapping out western brands on expensive items

We've had some success saving money recently by substituting brands that are well known in the West with ones that are popular in China. For example, when my Philips diamondcare toothbrush died recently, instead of paying $279 for a new one, I got an oclean X pro elite for $105.

So far, it's more successful on expensive electronics and going with a popular-but-unknown-locally brand has avoided getting poor quality. (I've tried with batteries and some other goods classes but their equivalents are hard to get, even on AliExpress and ebay)

Downturn in quality of puns

Anyone else saddened by the recent quality of catalogue puns? This week: "Big on bulk" for bulk sized items, meh. "Aisle abroad" for the international food section. It feels like a long time since the "only fans" edition (yes I know that's not strictly a pun).

Business card display cases ftw

This is my card setup using business card holders. I can pack them into a box as-is then take them out for the next game. So far so good! Each card holder was around $13 USD.

So much better than flapping cardboard in front of it, though admittedly loses some rustic charm...
