SSX10 going strength to strength
Game day 2 and I am loving my SSX10. I've added an extension to the rear and routed the hpa line to a more comfortable position. Next step, barrel experimentation.

Not for everyone I know, but my mate asked me to make one for his new SSQ4...so I made 2😂
Field test this sunday. 3d printed in PETG GF.
Just published these 3D print files for pistol grips for free on Makerworld. They fit my SSX10 nicely and feel really good IMO.
A selection of 5 different textures, from smoother Hex to rough stippling.
Hope this helps someone 👍
Hello everyone. I am pleased to release (for free) the files to print your very own SSX10 upper barrel cover and end cap.
https://makerworld.com/models/2986412?appSharePlatform=copy
The end cap just clips into the end of the lower mlok section covering the ugly green gas valve ( that most of us won't be using.) it also serves as the retention clip for the upper outer barrel cover.
The upper barrel cover must be used with the end cap to hold it in place.
If you like it please drop me a.like or even a boost on Makerworld as it makes a difference to me and costs you nothing 🙏
SSX10 WIP
Ran it completely stock for it's first outing this week but now its time to tweak. Overall a light, compact HPA sniper.
**3D Print elements**
\- Upper barrel cover
\- Hand guard end cap
\- Skeleton pistol grip
\- Fixed stock bracket
\- Skeleton stock bar
\- SI inspired stock end
All printed in PLA + for now as a test. Final will he in PETG GF.
All printed on a used and abused A1 Mini.
**Planned changes**
**Scope need raising a bit (I am a big lad...), bucking and nub swap, maybe a new inner barrel ( needs more testing),stock needs a TPU but pad, folding stock hinge, smaller suppressor and HPA line routing.**

A few people have asked how I get a wood effect on printed furniture, so here's the process I used on this stock.
This isn't some advanced finishing technique. It's mostly me smearing wood stain on plastic and hoping for the best.
PRINT SETUP
- Light brown or reddish-brown filament
- Fuzzy Skin (0.5 / 0.1 mm) or a bumpmesh.com texture
- Quick clean-up and wipe with IPA
For this build I sprayed the insert black before staining.
STAINING
I found 3 coats works best.
Make sure for each coat you wipe a little more gently
The print will eventually reach the stage where it looks like you've completely ruined it. This appears to be a mandatory part of the process. Now let it dry over night.
FINISHING
- Matte clear coat once dry
- Avoid gloss unless you're after the 'freshly varnished 90's pub table' look
Nobody is going to mistake it for real walnut, especially if they're staring at it from six inches away whilst squinting suspiciously, but it adds a lot of character and costs next to nothing.
Seriously, if I can do it, you can!
Happy to answer any questions.
Not going to lie...I think the G&G LevAR may be the most fun gun there is...and I think it looks rather nice too.
It's HPA tapped and I run the long one at Sniper joules and the shorty at normal rifles limits so no minimum engagement distance.
All the custom wood furniture is 3d Printed.
Not going to lie this build has exceeded my expectations. great files by Gundalf_3d combined with my own custom Carbon outer barrel and suppressor, topped off with all the internal upgrades so it's functional and (IMO) beautiful.
I do think I need to change the scope and probably add a pressure pad for the laser but the faux wood stock and Mlok covers are the real star here.
I will put together a post on how I achieved the wood effect at some point!
I mean it is nowhere near finished yet but I had to show off this stock. I take no credit for the design but the print and finishing is all my own work and it's looking worthy of any tactical cowboy....😂
