Just finished WoA, how on earth did people not like this book?

I came across a ton of posts saying that mistborn 1 and 3 were amazing, but 2 was just okay. Just finished 2 and while the first 15-20% was a bit slow (same with book 1 imo), the rest was fantastic. What an absolute ride and given HoA is supposed to have one of the best endings in fantasy, i cannot wait.

Dark Age (I got a bone to pick)

Alright I just have to vent here. And maybe it’s already been discussed, apologies, but I’m new to this sub.

Just finished Dark Age and I have a big problem with how the ending went. Specifically, the following really irked me:

-the Free Legions failure to destroy the EMP - Darrow gave an order. He then had time to gather howlers, put on equipment and fly to Gristastes’ house, raid the house then chase Lysander for a bit, all while they were aiming their guns at the EMP. In real time that had to be a minimum of 20 mins from when he gave the order. How on EARTH did it take them so long?

-Lysander’s feats - okay Pierce, you mean to tell me that Pixie ass Lysander au Lune, who first stepped foot on a battle field no more than a week prior, who was essentiallyw trampled by Darrow on the first go, as able to kill and/or seriously maim Alexandar au Arcos, Thraxa, and The reaper himself despite not a single one being taken by surprise? Even if you buy he could best Alexandar, Thraxa is going to be taken out by some pixie. And then Darrow? I don’t care if Darrow was less skilled in the equestrian arts. He’s not going to be taken in the chest by Lysander. This is the reaper we’re talking about.

I had other issues but those were the biggest ones for me. I just can’t buy it and i hate when writing is forced like that.

Alas, I still loved the book and cried my eyes out, and i love the series without a doubt. But i needed to vent bc seriously, what in the hell.

Trying to Decide on My Next Game

Looking for my next game but I’ve been kind of particular about what i do and don’t like so seeking guidance from all the pros out there.

I have had trouble getting into a handful world and sandbox like games lately. Idk if social media ruined my attention span or what lol, bc i used to love games these types of games, but i haven’t been able to get into games like RDR2 (don’t kill me!), either of the gods of war games, hogwarts.

Games I’ve liked lately are first person shooters like COD and bf6, and arc raiders. In the past i enjoyed GTA, gauntlet dark legacy, counter strike, Pokémon.

Trying to decide what game to buy next. I’ve heard the below list are great games to try but also open to new suggestions:

-cyberpunk
-ghost of Tsushima / yotei
-last of us pt 2
-watchdogs
-no man’s sky
-hades

Thanks so much!!!

Moving from .025 tret to 0.05 - wow!

I’m 36 yo and I’ve been using Tret 0.025% for years… like almost a decade. I started at 26/27 years old and I’d put it only on certain “problematic” parts of my face. At the time i had no idea what i was doing obviously. I still went through the crazy peeling and the big reveal renewal stages before 30

However in the last 2-3 years my skin has gotten really bad - fine lines like around my eyes and my mouth. Nasolabisl folds not ideal. I follow skincare very closely and am keenly aware of the data that says higher tret strengths don’t matter much, that it may get you to the same place only faster etc.

I had tried moving to .05% a few times but skin couldn’t handle it, even by starting with one day a week and different protocols like the sandwich method, etc. Recently i decided to try it again and the pharamscy gave me a different generic brand (not retin A). I’ve been able to successfully work it into my routine 3-4 days a week for the last 2-3 months or so and wow, the results are absolutely uncanny. My lines are so much improved. It’s truly like night and day. Moving up to .05 absolutely did help me , and i know for years i didn’t bc based of what derms and the data say. But i wanted to let those of you know who are wondering - give it a try!

EDIT: for those wondering the tret generic is “padagis tretinoin cream, USP 0.05%”
