What’s a rule you got wrong that almost made you give up the game?

I’ll go first. In learning to play viticulture I misunderstood the rule that says you can only play one worker per turn and thought I could only play one worker per season. So my first few playthroughs I got absolutely obliterated by the bot and couldn’t figure out how I could ever possibly win with so few actions taken per round. I started to wonder what was so great about this impossibly difficult game and was honestly quite disappointed and ready to throw in the towel, until I looked up some FAQs and realized my mistake. Now that I’m playing correctly the game is still challenging but definitely doable and much more fun.

Pictured is my high score of 9 while playing on impossible mode 😂

Anyone else have a similarly frustrating experience with messing up a rule that almost made you quit a game?

Anyone know if Chip Theory is likely to restock the metal dice and chip tracker?

I’m pretty new to the hobby but 20 Strong has been my favorite solo game so far and I’m so bummed I missed out on this! Is this something that might be restocked? Or anyone have a set they don’t want anymore to sell me? 😅

Which must-play solo games am I missing from my collection?

I’m fairly new to solo board games (and board games in general) and trying to curate my collection. Based on what I have listed below that I already know I like, are there any games I’m missing that you would consider to be must-plays? Thanks in advance!

Final Girl

Too Many Bones

20 Strong

Dragons of Etchinstone

Spirit Island

Finspan/Wingspan pocket

Cascadia

Ashes Ascendancy

Deckers

Sagrada

Cartographers

Black Sonata

A Gentle Rain

Flamecraft Duals

Daydream

For Northwood

Kinfire Delve

20 Strong Recommendations

Hi all, I am new to 20 Strong and looking for a little advice as it seems to be a bit of a polarizing series. I got the starter set with Tanglewoods Red and I really love Red so far. I figured my next logical purchases should be the other Tanglewoods sets, but I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on them. I saw a video where someone ranked Gold as the best in the whole series, and another video where someone ranked it dead last. And really mixed opinions on White and Rose. It also seems like people either love or hate the original trilogy, and I’ve also seen a lot of mixed opinions on the newer entries as well.

So now I’m a little unsure which decks I will love. What would you recommend to someone who really enjoys Tanglewoods Red but also just generally likes the core 20 Strong system and would be open to new experiences within that system?

Some people seem to think Red is the best of the Tanglewoods so now I’m not sure if I should bother with the others, even though like I said those are what I was planning to get next. I know everyone’s different but I would love to hear some opinions from those who are more familiar with the series. Thanks so much!

Is this normal for the Sploot Splat?

I’ve seen people say theirs have some air/hard pieces in the tentacles but this one has so much air that the filling is basically solid. Poor QC or could it be fake?
