'11 135i N55 - Error 3490 'Map Thermostat, Control: Line Interruption' remains after replacing thermostat + pump

I was getting the error 3490, which BimmerLink translates as 'map thermostat, control: line interruption' and really didn't have any problems except that it seemed to run the fan all the time and the car was slower to warm up.

The diagnostic seemed to be that the thermostat was bad, which was plausible, the thermostat and water pump had about 50,000 miles on them, so I just replaced both of them.

However, my Error 3490 is back with the new thermostat, so what's my next step in figuring out why there's a control line interruption? If the connector's definitely secure, how likely is it that the problem is somewhere either in the wiring from the connector to the DME or (please god no) in the DME itself?

Do E9x strut tower braces work on E88s?

Just wondering because I don't see a reason they wouldn't.

If I look at some braces like the Racing Dynamics one on ECS, it says it fits E9x, E82, E88. But some braces don't list that they fit E82 and E88, like the ECS-branded one. (And honestly they look more or less identical, at least dimensionally.)

Is there any clearance issue or anything like that which would make an E9x strut tower brace NOT work on an E88?

9800X3D / 9070 XT / 64GB -- Worth trying to sell together, or part out?

Location: Southeastern US

I put this system together at the beginning of the year and unfortunately I've ended up not having enough time to take advantage of it. Should I try to sell the RAM and GPU separately? What would be reasonable to put this on Craigslist for, if I sold it all together?

  • Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • be quiet! Pure Loop 3 280mm AIO
  • MSI Pro X870E-P Wifi
  • Corsair Vengeance RGB 64GB (2x32) DDR5-6000 CL30
  • Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
  • ASRock Challenger RX 9070 XT 16GB
  • Lian Li Lancool 217 mid-tower
  • Corsair RM850x

When I put this together on PC Part Picker, it comes up at like $3250, but the Corsair RAM in particular seems to be overpriced by about $250 compared to G.Skill or Kingston RAM, so I'd guess I could build something with the same specs for ~$3000.

Would $2500 all together be a realistic asking price all together?
