I just got this money tree… was so so so dry I had to soak the soil to remove it.. bound by that tape.. should I let it dry? Unwind branches? What would you do?

I purchased this plant from a reputable online nursery, I am going to repot and noticed what appears to be this black sheath under this layer of roots, should I try and remove it or leave it as it? I assume it was something that lined the pot then the roots grew out and around it. Thank you in advance!!

I just noticed this spot, it seems wet, I also noticed a droplet on another leaf, I water about 2 days ago.

Can I use these stones and pebbles I got from dollar tree in my open succulent and/or closed terrariums?

Only $11 and cute either way, I’ll definitely enjoy them, but I believe they seem fake to me, what do you think?
