I have questions

Why does Larry have 5 small “friends”? Is he running a home daycare? Is he licensed? Will the doctor report him to the state licensing board because all 5 children were injured in the same manner on the same day? This is clearly not a safe environment and Larry should be punished to the fullest extent of monster law.

Spa day experiment for stinky shirt

We live in a hot humid swamp and unfortunately my husband is a big sweater and loves to tinker with stuff in the garage, so his shirts get pretty stinky. Since finding this sub, we use a detergent with lipase (members mark pods) and FEBU for an added boost, but it’s a work in progress getting the stink out of his shirts from before I learned about laundry chemistry.

Anyway! This shirt was STANKY after the most recent garage evening and he told me he was going to throw it away. I asked if I could pretty please keep it for a laundry experiment and he obliged. Behold, my spa day potion and the post soak water 🤢 to be fair it was tinged blue from the tide but it was DEFINITELY not black like it ended up.

It’s fresh out of a low heat tumble and smells faintly of tide. We’ll see how it fares after his next sweat sesh but I’m hopeful! Next step is to gather all of his working tshirts for a reset now that we have the right stuff to maintain.

Toddler in daycare 🫩

15 month old in daycare has been a sickness magnet lately. Last week was Hand Foot Mouth, this weekend it was a stomach virus that ripped through the whole house. I’m so tired.

I got my new Gen4 ceramic in Wednesday and started wearing it that evening. The past few days, my stressed time has nearly doubled. Is there typically an adjustment period or “upgrade” in metrics quality after upgrading the ring? Or maybe this is all just a coincidence, but I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary the past few days to warrant an extended elevated stress response.

Little man just turned 13 months and we are finishing up our last can of formula. We are completely weaned off bottles, and drink a half formula half whole milk sippy before bed.

Before I leave the sub, I just wanted to say how much this space meant for me this past year. I learned so much, and felt so supported in my choice to formula feed.

A couple drops of wisdom from my year here

  1. boiling water is to sterilize the formula, not the water

  2. the best formula is the one that works for baby and is easily accessible for you. Generics are great. Sam’s Club and Costco generics are the cheapest.

  3. pitcher method or baby brezza are going to be your two best convenience options. You decide which one you like best. People have strong opinions on both.

  4. I loved lansinoh bottles/nipples, ride or die from the first day home from the hospital. EXCEPT their biggest bottle is so small! It’s impossible to mix a bottle once you get to about 6 oz. The fix: lansinoh nipples fit perfect in MAM bottles, and they make 9 and 11 oz bottles. I never made a bottle over 8 oz but you need swirling room!

  5. and finally, if you’re in the US, don’t buy imported formula from the internet!! There is nothing wrong with domestic formula! And certainly nothing worth the risk of fraudulent or tampered with formula, or one that’s been opened and inspected by customs.
