8 years in the UK. Moving to Spain. Need removal advice

I've lived in the UK for 8 years now. I’ve graduated here and got my first real job here. Made lifelong friends. I almost feel like a Brit at this point. I even say "cheers" without thinking

But life takes turns. I got a solid job offer in Barcelona. Decided to try my luck there. It’s gonna be a new city for me and even a new language. But I love adventures

I found an unfurnished flat online. It looks great. But now I'm staring at all my stuff. My coffee table. My bookshelf. My bed. Kitchen things. Clothes. All the little pieces that make a house feel like home

I don't want to sell everything and start over. Running around a new city trying to buy furniture sounds exhausting. Plus some of these pieces have memories attached

I've been looking at removals companies that do international moves. Simpsons Removals keeps coming up. They seem to specialize in UK to Europe moves

Has anyone used them? Or any similar service? I'm curious how smooth the process is. Do they pack everything? How long does shipping take? What about customs?

Can I use my Airbnb as collateral to buy another one?

I currently own a short-term rental property that's doing well. Really well. Booked solid, great reviews, steady income. I want to buy a second one, but I keep hitting the same wall with traditional banks.

All say that I have to prove personal high income. But the issue is that I am not a W-2 employee. My income is based on the rental. When the bank sees deductions from my tax returns, they say that you are making not enough

Meanwhile the property is literally generating cash every month. It's paying for itself and then some. But apparently that doesn't count.

I found one company that does refinancing based on rental income and not personal income. They actually look at the property's performance, not my day job status. It sounds like exactly what I need.

However, I am afraid. Do they have decent rates? Are they even real? Why would they be doing this?

I don't want to fall into the trap of shady lenders because my request at the traditional financial institution was rejected. However, I don't want to let this chance pass by

Did anyone ever use their services? What was your experience? Was funding provided promptly? Were the conditions acceptable?

are pre-settlement advances a thing in nz property law?

hey, currently selling my place and settlement is dragging on forever. need some cash before the actual settlement date so i’ve been looking at companies like JustFund New Zealand to bridge the gap.

honestly haven't found much info on how these actually work legally. like, are these just super high-fee loans or are they standard contracts in nz now? just don't want to get into something that isn't protected by the usual property rules before i talk to my lawyer. anyone had any experience with these or know what i should be wary of? cheers.

driveway crack after pool dig – how do i measure ongoing movement?

neighbour's excavation crack on my driveway pretty straightforward. is it still moving? i've taken photos but that doesn't tell me much.

i've been reading about crack monitors and tell-tales. seems like something i could install myself but i don't know what's actually useful vs what's just cheap junk.

what's the minimum monitoring setup that would actually hold up if this goes to dispute? i'm in sydney, reactive clay soil. excavation is maybe 2m deep, about 1.5m from fence line.

do i need a surveyor with a total station? or will crack gauges do the job? council and insurance are both useless so i need something that counts as evidence.

anyone dealt with this?

somehow i always forget how hot it gets until i'm actually there

every year i do this thing where i romanticize coachella for 11 months. the fits. the art the sunset sets. weekend 1 hits and i remember it's literally 95 degrees in the shade.

last year i made it to 2pm before i started questioning all my life choices. saw a guy pass out near the outdoor stage. security had to carry him out not fun

started carrying a hydro pack after that. best decision. also learned to just camp out in the sonora tent during peak heat. ac is a lifesaver

this time i actually planned ahead. booked a place with a pool. even bought one of those neck fan things.

still gonna complain about the heat though it's tradition at this point.

what's everyone's survival strategy for the polo fields? i need new ideas

why is every miami restaurant allergic to proper portions

look i get it. its fine dining. small plates. tasting menus. whatever.

but last week we went to this place in south beach and they served me what looked like a garnish as a main course. three bites. thirty five dollars. i wanted to cry lol.

not naming names cause i dont need drama but seriously when did everyone decide that less food equals more class?

the only spot that didnt leave me angry was Stubborn Seed tbh. still fancy but at least the portions make sense. my friend sent me their website link before we went and the menu looked reasonable so we gave it a shot. glad we did.

still think most of these places are robbing us though. and dont get me started on automatic gratuity for two people. since when is that a thing.

PTs, where do you personally see massage/bodywork fitting in?

Genuine question because opinions on this seem really mixed.

I’ve dealt with recurring tightness/stiffness (mostly neck/back/hips). PT exercises definitely helped, especially strength + movement, but certain areas still seemed to get guarded again over time.

Recently tried therapeutic-style bodywork too (Mudras in my case) and felt looser afterward, especially mobility-wise. But I honestly can’t tell how much was actual benefit vs temporary relief vs just finally relaxing for an hour.

For people working in PT, where do you see this kind of thing fitting in?

Useful complement in some situations? Mostly symptom management? Somewhere in the middle?

Planning a trip to Mykonos for 60 people, Airbnb or villa rental?

Our company has a team of 60 people and we're looking at doing an offsite retreat in Mykonos. Trying to figure out the best way to house everyone without booking a full hotel block.

I started looking at Airbnbs but the options felt scattered and hard to compare for a group this size. Then I found online a site that lists larger mykonos villas properties places like Villa Aegean and a few others that seem built for bigger groups. They looked more organized than what I was finding on Airbnb.

I've never booked a private villa for 60 people before and I'm not sure if splitting across a few Airbnbs would actually be cheaper or easier to manage.

Has anyone coordinated accommodation for a group this large in Mykonos? And is a villa rental actually worth it over multiple Airbnb listings at that scale?

not in a sad way necessarily, more like a quiet, detached, almost floating feeling

the kind of song that makes everything around you feel distant for a moment

what songs give you that vibe?
