Inroom Mini Bar question

Going to a Club Med for the first time in December, headed to Miches.

Have a question about the minibar in the room.

(I understand its just water and sodas)

Do they refill it daily?

if so...

Can you request certain drinks?

Thanks in advance ! Looking forward to my trip.

HFM (Hand Foot Mouth Disease)

As I am going through all the reviews I can find to see the pros and cons of the resort I booked, I see some folks have contracted HFM, and the photos are wild.

However, I am wondering how they contracted it in the first place. Was it from the pools, the airport, or other. After reading about how it spreads, human to human is done from touch via open sores and or saliva. In pools it can be feom fecal matter and somebody getting a mouthful of the contaminated water.

The more I read these certain reviews, itmakes me wonder how contagious this is, lots of cases where the kids spread it to their parents.

It begs me to ask, are the pools safe or not and if the cusomers are not bringing in the disease, where would it be coming from?

Question about drinks

My trip later this year will be my first visit to club med, and would like to ask:

will the bartenders serve only the drinks on the menu or could i ask for something off the menu?

thanks in advance.

Question about "All Inclusive"

As I understand it, all inclusive means meals and drinks are covered, and sometimes other things as well...

My question is about the drinks and snacks.

In general I understand not all resorts are the same, and may differ from resort to resort, but just going for a "typical" response.

Are most mixed drinks included at most all inclusive resorts?

Are snacks included in between meals if we desire one?

again, i understand it varies from place to place, so just looking for a general answer.

Looking for resort recommendation for a Solo Traveler

Key info up front:

  • Flying out of Atlanta
  • 1 Person (me)
  • budget roughly 3-3.5k USD (flying not included), but willing to go over some
  • dates: anywhere from September thru November (excluding thanksgiving week)
  • around 5 nights at hotel

Additional info: I know nothing at all when it comes to vacationing, I am just a simple working class man who has never had a luxury vacation before, I have never left the lower 48, and very unfamiliar with the whole "resort" kind of lingo

my goals from this vacation:

  • all inclusive
  • warm weather is a must
  • good food and drink plus snacks
  • relaxing, on the quieter side of things, no kids running around screaming (adults only i suppose)
  • excellent views of the beach
  • a good show or two

Extras that could sway me but not mandatory:

  • Private pool and/or Jacuzzi/Hot tub to hop in late night or early morning
  • Eastward facing views (sunrise)
  • High-end Billiards
  • will add to list if I can think of anything

I imagine myself sitting in a chair under shade with my feet in the water just relaxing and taking in the scenery, while enjoying a cocktail or three. I want no pressure to do anything other than enjoy myself. I need no daytime activities, I need not to visit any local sites, I just want to chill and get away from city life for a week.

Not looking to mingle with anyone, meet any new people or generally engage in a "party atmosphere", not saying any of that is off the table, if it happens it happens, but I will not be seeking it out.

So it boils down to location and venue.

I have considered the following locations:

  • Bermuda
  • Anywhere in the Caribbean
  • Mexico, but would rather not

For the food, I would like some traditional menus available, such as steaks, burgers, seafood, pastas, etc, as I am not too adventurous when it comes to dining so eating local cuisine isn't quite my style.

For the service, I'm a basic guy, if I need something, I will ask. I prefer not to have somebody asking me every 30 minutes if I am OK or if I need something.

I also considered a cruise, but I think this type of vacation offers more of what I am after.

So let me know if anything stands out, and thanks for reading.

List of current resorts I am looking into:

  • TRS Turquesa Hotel

Thinking of quitting due to neighbors

So my neighbor 4 houses down across the street came to me and said my fireworks made a dent in his truck hood from falling debris. His vehicle has an aluminum hood (newer Yukon).

i asked him to get some quotes and if low enough i would pay out of pocket, dent repair is pretty cheap.

he told me he went to 4 or 5 places and got estimates from each of them but the best price was a mobile repair. he produced no actual paperwork from said quotes, nor a receipt from mobile repair guy, the dent was indeed fixed, as i did witness the before and after.

i wanted to play nice and not be "that guy" but i feel like ive been fleeced.

so i am contemplating on quitting aerial displays including cakes and mortar shells, and just doing small shit like loud ass fountains and mass Saturn missles.

yall think his claim was legit?

btw, i wasnt the only one shooting off fireworks, my neighbor one street down, parallel, was shooting off big stuff making it over the treeline.

Looking to go on Cruise Solo

Hi,

I am looking to go on a cruise solo in or around November, leaving out of any port from Florida, or would consider anywhere on east coast to leave out of.

I have been reading that Virgin seems like the best line to go with.

My goals are not exactly what you would imagine, I would like to not actually be social, I just want to relax and enjoy my time away from home, while having some amazing views of the ocean. I am really not even sure if I want to get off the boat at the day ports, so the destination matters not, just as long as the weather is nice and warm.

I will be getting a balcony room. So I guess my question is, what are all the little things I need to know before booking such a cruise, and which cruises would you recommend

or

would i be better off booking a regular vacation at a warm destination of my choosing and just chilling by the beach there.

2 mortar racks for grabs in the ATL Area

i have a 30 shot rack and a 18 shot rack that i want to part ways with, both were built last year and have been used multiple times with no issues. they both have handles.

racks are free if you pickup, tubes not included

or

racks plus tubes @ $2 per tube if you pick up.

(tunes are upside-down in photos because they have been cleaned of debris and ready for use)

nothing is wrong with racks, i have since replaced them for octo racks by pyroboom.

first come first serve.

u/tastegw — 2 months ago

Great Grizzly done lost their minds...

just in one of the ATL locations to get some cheap ball shells, noticed some prices on well known items were off the chains...

High Falutin $120, not a case, just 1 cake.

False 3" Noabs for $180 each.

these are the worst prices i have seen first hand.

(never been to phantom)
