I have a girlfriend actually!

My partner of 5+ years told me yesterday. I am so touched to see her excitement, I feel fortunate for the opportunity to be by her side and watch her blossom. The sparkling eyes are very cute.

She has decided not to tell most people until it's unavoidable or "can't be hidden" (physical changes being directly addressed by people). So when we see our families, we will use her previous name and pronouns for "as long as possible".

Has anyone got any experience or advice for this period of in-between, before their partner was presenting as themselves 24/7 and out to everyone?

For context I'm bi/pan and love people for who they are, and I have several trans friends and loved ones. I'm mindful of external difficulties that come with being trans, I am supportive happy and excited for what's next for her and for us together! My aim is to continue to show up for her in the best way I can :)

Obsolete IPL machine or same unchanged technology?

Hi the home IPL machine is about 15 years old, Beurer SalonPro System Hairremoval IPL 10000+.

It is functional, I am giving it away and just wondering if a newer model would give better results or if there is any safety reasons not to use an older machine.

Thank you

Ruby rubber plant, roots escaping. Repotting advice welcome.

Hi

This is my first and only rubber plant so I want to check for advice first.

-Time to repot yes? What size pot? 1-2cm bigger than current or aim bigger?

-Planning to use the Ficus potting soil mix from SoilNinja, do I need to add more grit? If so what kind?

-How far down should I put the plant in the pot? (should I submerge all roots)

More details: this Ruby elastica is a few months old, not repotted ever, roots are trying to leave!

Photos are from 2 weeks ago (most red) and from today (less red, more root growth).

I had to move it from it's previous spot which was sunnier but not tall enough. New spot gets almost no direct sunlight, most of the day with indirect light like pictured in the last photo (casting a blurry shadow), and a couple of hours bright indirect (casting a strong shadow).

Grown from unidentified leaf. What is it and are those tiny plant babies?

Please see photos. Friend brought me the bigger growing succulent in that pot (+2 leaves growing since), but this one also grew from a tiny leaf, and I don't know what it is. Especially these tiny little things on the ends, they look like babies? Are they? What should I do? Leave them be? Will they fall and plant themselves?

I plan to repot this plant separately from the other succulents. I have jades and am assuming this should be treated the same (small pot, well draining soil, infrequent but abondant bottom watering, good sun) but welcome any advice.

Thank you
