Easy Cover Hack for Simple Rain and Seat Protection

My boat isn't on a lift right now. It's a 2019 Regency 21 Foot. The cover is a HUGE pain in the ass to put on and take off. I wish there was just a simple cover I could put on that would protect it from rain and sun damage when it's in the water over the summer.

Any ideas? I've looked on amazon, etc. but nothing fits with the Bimini top unless you cut holes, etc.

Wasn't sure if there was a good DIY type thing I haven't thought of.

Teen Marriage

On one of my many rewatches.

I’ve always wished there was a different version of the show without the entire teen marriage storyline!

It was so unnecessary. There are plenty of ways to add drama and portray a couple that are devoted to each other without being MARRIED!

Of the many crazy storylines and writing this show has had, that’s one that always bothered be the most.

New Roval Rapide Stem on Crux 5 Work on Tarmac SL8?

Just got an SL8 Expert. Knew I'd need to dial in the fit and change handlebars, stem and cranks so the Pro was pointless.

Anyway...Anyone know if the new Roval Rapide stem that is on the Crux 5 will work on the SL8 with the SL8 under stem spacers/cable guides, etc?

It looks WAY better! I really dislike how jumbled up the SL8 stem looks with the weird cutouts and needing the L shaped cover, etc. Just looks unnecessarily messy there.

The Crux version looks more traditional and cleaner like how the Roval cockpit is.

Help choosing Tarmac SL8!

I want some opinions here to help me choose.

Expert in the “black/dark brown”, pro in the “silver dust”.

I’m not one for super flashy bikes so the black has always caught my eye. But also don’t mind the silver.

But the pro obviously has more upgrades and should be the obvious choice. And the current sale price is only $1200 more for better saddle, wheels, handlebar and power meter.

BUT…I have specific fit needs and need 160mm cranks. Not so easy of a switch with spindle based power meter. And I use a different saddle anyway.

SO: what would you choose? Would you go with your second color choice for all the better stuff? Even tho I may have to swap some stuff anyway?

Or buy the expert and upgrade over time?
Hmmm

Inside scoop on any SL8 further price drops?

I’m in the market for a tarmac. There are some SL8 Experts in stock around me that I could grab. Anyone have any idea if these will continue to drop in price? I’m in no hurry and apparently there are about 7 in stock I can get sent to the store I shop.

I would also look at the Pro but I know I’d have to change the cockpit size anyway and I don’t really want any deeper wheels than the C38 anyway.

In store is currently $6999. Performance Bicycle has the same at $5999 today.

Roval Alpinist seatpost hate

Random I know.

But anyone else absolutely hate the 2 bolt/front and back attachment and adjustment system on these? They are a huge pain in the ass to dial in for someone like me that has to keep their bikes all the same fit.

You install it and start tightening it down. Great. But to adjust fore/aft you have to loosen the bolts. Which then also messes up the tilt. So if you get the fore/aft dialed in and start tightening it messes up the tilt at the same time. It’s a constant back and forth and i hate dealing with it. But i love the seatpost itself.

*This comes after using the roval terra seatpost on another bike. It’s just so easy! One bolt. Super easy to dial in. No fuss. Why’d they make their other clamps to hard to work with? Maybe I’m doing it wrong.

Fitting Crux (new or old) exactly to my Aethos!

I have a 54cm Aethos I have dialed in perfectly. Pro bike fit twice now since I’ve been dealing with low back and knee issues. Been riding for over 20 years and it’s as dialed in as I’ve ever had it.

I also have a 54cm 2025 crux. It’s bigger overall than the Aethos, and I can’t dial it in exactly like it. It would work but I want a seamless feel from one bike to the other due to my injury issues.

The top tube is longer, I can’t get the hoods where I need them without bringing bar top too close to knees when out of saddle, etc.

I’m thinking of getting the new crux 5 with a top tube that is 6mm shorter than my current crux. Or just going to a 52 in the crux 4 KNOWING my crux 4 in a 54cm is just a tad too long to match my Aethos fit.

Anyone else have this issue? I’d love to take advantage of the new Crux 5 release, but it has the same stack and reach as my current crux. Will the slightly shorter top tube help?

Or just go to 52cm crux from last year?
