Boots Arrived and Could Use some Advice

I just got my boots last night, but think I goofed a bit when I ordered them and could use some advice from all you Nick's pros.

I own a collision shop and wanted a pair Chelsea boots that look good and would hold up to the shop environment. I've been wearing Cole Hans and Timberlands but they last me 1-2 years max. After doing some research it seemed the general consensus is Nick's is the best so I decided to take the plunge.

As a newbie, I found the ordering process to be a bit overwhelming with all the options, not to mention the time to ship would have meant I need to buy another set of Cole Hans to hold me over until they get made / shipped. That meant I was super excited when I saw the exact boot I wanted in-stock, in my size.... except I didn't realize it was a C width.

They arrived and I can say that these things are BEAUTIFUL and feel like something that will wear in not wear out. They look fantastic and feel very comfortable, except they are a smidge narrow (this is the point I learned what C meant and that I ordered that instead of standard D).

Now I'm deciding whether to keep this and hope the leather will stretch out a bit as I wear it or send it back and order the same boot in a D width and play the waiting game. In a thinner sock it feels almost fine, but if I put a heavier sock on it's a bit snug. So what's your opinions? Order the D’s and wait.... or rock these and let the leather do its thing.

ETA: they’re not tight everywhere, only around the balls of my feet. Sorry, I can’t figure out how to add a photo.

Carrying clean vs dirty: health implications

Hi everybody, I’m relatively new to carrying; I’ve had my CCW a little less than a year, but I’ve only been carrying with some regularity the last couple months. I like to use the pistol I carry at the range so I can build my skills and familiarity with it.

I have seen plenty of posts debating the reliability of clean vs dirty pistols but have not seen much discussion about the potential health effects of carrying a dirty pistol. I’d imagine that there would be potential lead exposure concerns of carrying a dirty gun. I appendix carry and I know that that dirty muzzle would technically be in kydex, but I can’t imagine it would be impossible for some of that to make contact with my skin, especially since that area could get a little sweaty on warm days.

I’m sure like many people here, I like to carry to and from the range, but I feel a little hesitant to put my pistol back inside my waistband after shooting a couple hundred rounds though it and seeing my muzzle look like the photos attached. It’s pretty well-accepted we should wash our hand after shooting to minimize lead exposure, so I can’t imagine tucking this back into my waistband would be any better than not washing my hands.

Does anybody here have any research or firsthand experience they’d care to share on the topic?

Absolute unit of a tree in front of my grandfather’s house in Whitestone, NY

I need to spend a few minutes staring at it and appreciating it every time I visit him. It’s basically taking up the entire space between the sidewalk and the street and is now growing out into the street.

Does this count?

My stepfather does financing for Gabrielli trucks and was showing me some of the cooler trucks he’s financed and I feel like this is putting out the right RCSB vibes.
