Beyond Exhausted with the Post Power Outage Recovery Process

I am at my absolute wit's end with this hardware.

My home recently lost power for twelve hours, and my entire LIFX setup has completely broken down.

Some bulbs won't turn on, others are totally unresponsive, and one is stuck on white, refusing to communicate with my phone.

This happens every single time the grid blinks.

I am forced to spend an hour and a half standing in rooms flipping wall switches up and down like an idiot, just hoping the hardware decides to register a reset.

Then it turns into an absolute nightmare of juggling 2.4 GHz bands, crossing my fingers that the app detects the device, or getting completely blocked by the app demanding a QR code that I no longer have.

No one keeps tiny slips of paper forever just to ensure their ceiling lights work after a standard storm. (Maybe you did but I didn't because I couldn't even read them in the first place because the text was so small).

I previously used Philips Hue, and when the power cut out, the entire system recovered automatically.

There was zero strife, zero hours wasted, and no manual rituals.

With LIFX, a basic power loss turns into a miserable, multi-hour ordeal of fighting with an app that ignores manual setup options or fails at the final handshake step.

I do exactly what the documentation tells me to do, and the process still completely fails.

Smart tech is supposed to make life easier.

ake life easier, but this setup process causes nothing but intense frustration and exhaustion.

I've only had this brand for about a year, and a half and it mostly works fine when it works.

I invested a lot of money in a lot of bulbs and now I have to either throw them all away or keep suffering because I'm aware this is likely going to fall on deaf ears and the intent was just to vent or commiserate.

Join us this Monday at Noisetown for a unique gathering focused on connection through the spoken word.

Located in the small room of this community staple, our monthly open mic takes place on the first Monday of every month.

This event follows a distinct format designed to foster dialogue rather than just performance.

We use a round robin style where each participant shares one poem, followed by an open floor where everyone in the room is invited to discuss the work.

**This is not a critique or a spotlight.**

Sign ups begin at 5:30 p.m. and the session starts between 6:00 and 6:15 p.m.

It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the company of others and explore complicated topics together, but you don't have to share anything to attend or to take part in the discussion about what's being shared!!

If you are looking for a place in Tulsa to truly connect with people with the words they share, we invite you to be part of this monthly conversation!!
