Do you downplay your bipolar2?

Something I am working on with my therapist is figuring out why I can't seem to accept my bipolar 2 diagnosis. I mean - I can tell a random cashier I have it, but when it comes to accepting it and being kind to myself, it's just not there. I always feel like I am "too much", a burden, faking, etc. She actually tells me I don't tell her enough, especially about my SI. Apparently I minimize like crazy. I don't really know where this comes from except my dad had bipolar as well and growing up my mom was simply mean about it. Very uncaring. Very condemning. And he ultimately died by his own hands. Maybe that's a clear cut "why" right there, although I didn't really even considering this connection until the last week or so. Do you have any thoughts? How does this work out in your life?

300000 mile club!

Here’s our girl - she was born in 2008. We call her “ol reliable”. We’ve had her 9 years, got her with 171000, paid $13k in 2017. I’m now a single mom with the same 5 kids, who are all aged 17 and up now. They grew up in her. She’s been in many states, we’ve had so many memories together. I literally never thought I could feel this way about a vehicle but I LOVE her. She knows nothing except to just keep starting and going. Fuel gauge doesn’t work. Check engine light has been a constant companion. TPMS also likes to shine. We haven’t had any major repairs. She’s got a small amount of rust and we live on gravel so she gets put through it. I do NOT like the gas mileage but I also can’t imagine getting something else. I don’t want to hurt her feelings (haha). I’d really like to see how much further we can go. Thanks for letting me share. I’m a proud mom. 🥰

Fuel gauge not working

Anyone have an inoperable fuel gauge? I know to simply fuel at 300 miles, but I haven't had a working fuel gauge in years. It shows full after filling, and goes to just below half a tank before stopping - and doesn't go any further. She's got her miles - just 100 until 300k. But if this could be an easy fix, I'd love that!

Those of you at home during the day - what do you make for simple lunches?

I tend to just not eat but then at dinner I am so hungry and make unhealthy choices while also eating a LOT. I'd like to shift to eating more around noonish and then a bit less later in the day at dinner.

First few nights of cpap (resmed air something 11)…not noticing difference?

I do realize it can take a while to start noticing a difference, truly. But I had an AHI of 36.2 before therapy and it’s now down to 0.7 with mask and machine. Wouldn’t that make me feel better fast? I’m so desperate to feel more awake in the morning.

Carnival Liberty out of NOLA (Key West, celebration key, Nassau) in Jan/Feb - will water be freezing?

I have saved for years as a single mom of teens and we are finally taking our big family vacation. We haven’t booked yet, but this date (Jan 31-Feb 7) is the one that seems to be working best for our schedules. Now, I’m worried that the water will be too cold. We are in a northern state so we’re used to freezing, but I’ve worked so hard for this trip and if the water temperature ruins it I will be heartbroken. (I really really wanted the cruise out of NOLA that stopped at both of Carnival’s islands but we couldn’t make Thanksgiving or Christmas work, which is when they are.) Anyway. Back to water temps. Can you advise??

I’m not sure what to think but I am just terrible about having people stay overnight at my home. It stresses me out more than anything else. I wish I knew how to fix this…

Chatted with a friend who said she’s never once thought about dying in a way related to self. I can’t even imagine that. I see a tall structure and think “is that tall enough to die from?” I see a huge lake and think about drowning. I see a ton of pills and think “how many would it take?” Guessing none of that is normal haha

Hey everyone. I am so tired of being 300 points and under-tall. I’m uncomfortable. I hurt. But I use food as a coping tool for depression. My therapist keeps saying I need to fix the root cause of why I eat before it’s worth doing surgery, and if I don’t I will gain it all back. I’m sure that’s probably true. But I haven’t been able to lose another way. I feel like this is the tool I need. Looking for feedback. Thank you.
