From icelab_official at IG: This week we are glad to have as a special guest the Olympic Champion Mikhail Shaidorov 🇰🇿 training in IceLab!
Lucky duck, Bergamo is heaven on earth this time of the year.
This was shot earlier this month but I haven't seen it on the sub (if it's been posted already please let me know). You can watch a HD version here: https://www.sportschau.de/wintersport/eiskunstlauf/hase-volodin-geben-kurzprogramm-vorgeschmack,video-hase-volodin-100.html (geoblocked for Germany)
I am super excited about this program. I love the music, the concept, and I already know I will love whatever amazing bodysuit Minnie will wear for it. I forgot when their GP assignments are but they can't come too soon.
"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"
Aaargh goosebumps.
Guys, talk to me. When Misha said he will have a new combo this season he probably didn't mean that +3S+2A combo? Surely not the 3Lz+3T? Or is that the plot twist? When was the last time Misha opened a free with a 4T???
Anyway I want my wife back. Stupid rules.
This is where I am after the debut.
We will be able to see his new programs in Bratislava, 24-27 September. Honestly I wasn't expecting this, otherwise I would have planned to go there 😭fml
Misha looks like he's sprung to life from a shoujo anime.
We're not getting any hints about the programs or quad flex videos so I decided to dress Misha like a paper doll instead. This is an idea for the free skate (since we don't know what the short is 🙄). 2 and 3 look similar in color but they're like blue black and green black. Sorry that skates and portraits aren't real.
Here's one of my favorite pairs programs of all time. Featuring:
I hope I managed to sell it XD
They say that the program is very beautiful. The pictures look great. It's so Misha.
Sorry if some of these are redundant.
Can someone with an Instagram account check, maybe? And collect questions here?
I was hoping that the sub mods can reach out to him for an AMA on Reddit but since we're like five people, maybe this is a good option as well (if it's really happening)
(I know I said step sequence but I had to include the Lutz entry because it's so beautiful)
This is one of my all time favorite short programs and especially the step sequence is just amazing. It is technically difficult, but also it was so well-considered and timed to the spoken word. I think it is a great example of the use of voiceovers in a program not being something in the background that you kind of skate to, but being connected to the movement, rhythm and whatever it is that you came to say on the ice as a skater.
Also, men catch constant flak for skating skills and spins, so I would like to draw attention to this guy getting consistent level 4s on his spins and step sequences.
To me, Lukas is one of the skaters with a very strong artistic vision and presentation. This could have been gimmicky but it was presented with so much thought and sensitivity, that I think it is a beautiful and touching program. I am a bit sad that he didn't seem to get it 100% clean with the jumps, but whatever. I still love it.
Spouse and I are going together. Super excited.
Send me plushie suggestions in the comments (not only for Misha).
(If you are going, the good tickets are selling fast so I suggest hurrying up).
Here is the link for purchase and a post on the main sub with the preliminary schedule and ticket buying guide.
We are hoping to go if nothing catastrophic happens!
I am just so glad these two found each other 😭 Look at the two OGMs.
Source is Misha's Instagram account. I don't know what it says but I am sure one of you do.
From Arlet Levandi's Instagram.
Guys it feels like I'm the only one who's not at Peak Ice. I feel left out.
I guess Urmanov is holding workshops there? I hope he gave Arlet some magic jumping aura and he'll get a World's spot.
I don't know if it's uncool to post videos from Instagram on Reddit. If it is, let me know and I'll nuke it. Credit goes to thepeakicecamps on Instagram.
They seem to be skating to the music that everyone else is also skating to this season.
I love how he's like "okay and I do a 3T here" and doesn't even bother to drill it lmao
New pairs have been forming left and right, but I haven't heard anything about Michał Woźniak. I know he was looking for a new partner. Does anyone know if he's been successful? I am really hoping he can come back to competition 🙏 Thank you!
