Old shoes

Hey everyone, I know r/vegan isn't really vegan so I'm asking here:

I have some leather shoes from before I was a vegan. On one hand, I don't want to wear leather (obvious reasons), but on the other hand, I don't want to consume more resources and create new vegan shoes and destroy the planet further. Would it be ethical to wear my leather shoes until they're worn out, or should I buy new vegan shoes?

I'm divided and I'd like to hear your thoughts

UPDATE: I'm going to replace my leather products, because it is just as important to support vegan products/companies as it is to boycott nonvegan products/companies

Grandfathering things in

Hey everyone, I'm convinced r/vegan is not actually vegan, so I'm asking here

Is it vegan to still wear leather shoes I had from before I went vegan (and just wait until I need new ones to buy vegan shoes)? I'd prefer not to wear leather but I also don't want to consume more resources and further destroy the planet

I'm divided, what are your thoughts?

UPDATE: Thank you! From the comments, I realized that abandoning animal products is only half of the battle, and the other half is supporting vegan products. Therefore, I will buy some new shoes!

Actually, turns out my shoes are fake leather anyways, but I'll be replacing my leather wallet and belt instead.

I need vegans (like on r/vegan) to make me feel good about eating meat

Lifelong nonvegan here. I gave up eating one atom of meat per week. Will all of you vegans congratulate me, like they do on r/vegan? Being congratulated by vegans makes me feel morally justified.

Vegan food near campus

If there's any vegans on here who live on campus, where do you like to go out to eat?

I recently gave up eating/using animal products and was wondering where to go to dinner with my family when they visit (somewhere with at least one vegan option)

What’s next?

When I was growing up, I ate meat all the time. My parents would bring me to an all-you-can-eat steakhouse for my birthday every year because I loved it that much

Then I saw the light and became vegan. I feel like I was living a lie, but I’m so grateful to be here now

So my question is, what’s next? What other changes (possibly not related to veganism) can I make in my life that will make the world a better place? What other light is there to see?

(If it matters, I am a 21 year old male college student living in a city in the northeastern United States)
