no debt but getting harassed by debt ppl

Hi, I’m hoping someone here has dealt with something similar or knows what I should do.

I’ve recently started getting a bunch of calls and harassment texts from supposed debt collectors saying that I have an overdue loan. The problem is, I’ve never taken out a loan from any lending app.

A few days before this started, though, my mom took my ID and entered my personal information into what turned out to be a fake lending app (without my consent LOL). The app asked her to pay an upfront fee before releasing the supposed loan. She paid it, never received any loan, and the money was never returned.

Now I’m worried that whoever was behind that fake app got my ID and personal information and either used my identity to take out a loan somewhere else or is using the information to scam/harass me.

One of the collectors mentioned an app/company called “Pesos Pal.” I don’t recognize it, I never applied for a loan with them, and I never received any money from them.
Is it actually possible for someone to take out an online loan using my information without my knowledge? Has anyone experienced something similar after submitting their ID to a fake lending app?

Also, what should I do to make sure there aren’t any loans under my name that I don’t know about? And is there any way to stop the constant calls/texts besides blocking every number? I’ve been blocking them like crazy, but they just keep coming from different numbers.
Any advice on where I should report this or how I can check if my identity has been used would be really appreciated.

TL;DR: My mom accidentally gave my ID and personal information to a fake lending app that asked for an upfront fee. A few days later, I started getting harassment calls/texts about an overdue loan from “Pesos Pal,” even though I’ve never taken out a loan or received any money from them. I’m worried my information was stolen and used to take out a loan under my name. Is that possible, and how can I check/report this and stop the messages?

Hi!!! I’m preparing to release my debut single as an independent artist and I’d love advice from people who’ve done this before xd

I was originally in talks with a management/label situation, but I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me since they didn’t give me any creative freedom- like at all (lowkey a bit culty too lol), so I decided to step back and go the indie route instead. Now I’m trying to make sure I do things properly on my own.

What are the most important things I should know before releasing a first single independently? Like:

• distribution platforms

• royalties / rights / ownership stuff

• prerelease promo timelines

• pitching to playlists

• PRO registration (if needed before release?)

• anything you wish you knew before your first release

I want to do this the right way from the start🥲

Any tips or checklists would really help!!
