Tide! Seriously? It's Tide???

I was plugging along on the elliptical yesterday and out comes a PF employee with a rolling cart containing paper towels and several large jugs of Tide liquid laundry soap.....which he used, along with water, to refill the spray bottles!

We're cleaning the machines with.....TIDE?????

Foam Recommendations

My bed is roughly 8 years old. It has a "smart bed" adjustable frame that works fine and the bed still inflates, but it's just not comfortable anymore. From what I'm reading, this is fairly common and the fix is to replace the foam that is between the airbags and cover. I removed the cover and measured the foam and am ready to order from a third party rather than pay the $500-ish that I'm hearing Sleep Number charges. My question is if anyone has recommendations on a specific foam that won't break down after a year. I hear Memory Foam will stop springing back fairly quickly but I have no actual experience and don't know if they've improved memory foam since I heard that. What's in there now is a sort of egg-crate foam, which is 2 1/2" thick at the "points" and 1" thick in the valleys.

I see a ton of options on Amazon and I've heard Home Depot is another option. I just don't want to get something that's going to be flat and have me sleeping in a hole in six months. Anyone have a tried and true option?

How People Dress on TV

Something silly that I notice a lot and I wonder about people's opinions.

When I'm watching TV, I notice how people dress. Women wear dresses, even in casual situations. It's not exactly June Cleaver vacuuming in pearls but women meeting each other for lunch in dresses. Walking out to get the mail and chatting with neighbors in nice slacks and blouses. I would sooner set my hair on fire than wear a dress. Men, unless they're workmen or working on something "manly" never wear jeans. The most casual look I see for relaxing is khakis.

I live in Ohio and I definitely don't see this behavior in real life, but maybe it's regional. I wear jeans or joggers. The last time I had to go to a funeral I wore black jeans. The last time I wore a dress was easily 10 years ago and it was to a "formal" party for work. But the stuff I see on TV isn't formal parties or funerals. These are women grocery shopping in dresses!

Is this a regional thing? A big city thing? Or is it just TV depicting boujie characters? I'm interested in how real people outside of Ohio (and maybe outside of my age range) dress. I'm a female, 60 but my friends are all in their 40s and my son is 30 and his friends also don't dress up.

WiFi Smoke Alarms - PSA

PLEASE get WiFi enabled smoke detectors to protect your pets when you're not home. I didn't even know these existed before a friend lost all six of her dogs in a house fire. She was at work, only a mile away from her home. But it was at night, so nobody saw the smoke and the neighbors didn't hear the smoke alarms going off.

They're relatively inexpensive and easy to set up. There are various brands out there. You'll need to download an app and you will get a notification on your phone if the alarms are triggered.

I usually go to the office 8am-noon Monday and Thursday and WFH the rest of the time. Today, my assistant is on vacation and I knew I'd be extra busy so I got the ok from my boss to work from home, my time being better spent working than commuting.

So, of course, my power went out at 8:30. Because of course it did. And I had to run through the quickest of showers and haul ass to the office, which I really didn't have time to do.

One of the first worldest of problems but I knew you guys would feel my pain.

There’s a funky smell in the hydromassage area. Always. I don’t know how else to describe it but “funky”. It’s not a person because it’s always there. Is it something to do with the equipment or what they clean it with? Is it specific to my location?

I see so many posts here about how to not let work seep into your personal time. I don't really have a problem with that. It happens, but not enough that it bothers me. I'm a manager so I just deal with it when necessary.

But yesterday was super busy. I pretty much hunkered down and cranked out work solid all day. And when it was done I felt....guilty. Because I didn't have time to start the laundry or dust like I planned on.

Work has been slower than normal the last few months and I've grown accustomed to knocking chores out during the day, to the extent that focusing on work now feels like I'm neglecting the stuff I normally do during down time.

I mean it's fine. I kind of had a chuckle about my short-lived feelings of guilt, patted myself on the back a little for focusing and getting stuff done when it was necessary, then got the laundry started after dinner. But I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, sort of expecting yourself to do home stuff during work hours.

I'm single so, thankfully, I don't have to deal with family expecting me to do anything 😄

If you’ve had dry eyes and found anything that helps I would love to know. I’ve tried systane, blink and genteal tears brand drops and the relief is short lived. I mentioned it at my last eye doc appointment and he just said to use drops. I have an alarm on my phone to use the drops at 11am, 3pm and 7pm and still I’m miserable all evening until I go to bed. I’m 15 years post surgical meno but I started HRT about six months ago if that makes any difference.
