Help needed with verifying this strat

I bought a heavily modded 2006/2007 John Mayer Signature strat. It seems legit by:

- the serial number on the backplate is correct

- the Signature at the back of the headstock is correct

- the string tree is furher up the headstock

- the trussrod is at the bottom of the neck

- now screwholes for the backplate

When I received it I removed the neck. Here are some pictures. Can someone help me verify is this indeed correct?

Thanks!

Help on verifying this strat

Maybe a bit of topic but hopefully you guys can help. I bought a heavily modded John Mayer Signature strat.

It has the Signature, string tree furher up and no screw holes at the backplate. I know opened it but can't get a definte answer on if its legit. Can you guys help? Based on these pictures.

Bottom of the neck seems legit 'John Mayer' right?

NPD: Strymon Compadre

I always felt like compressor are the second most boring pedal after tuners. Probably since I didn't get them. Recently could buy a Compadre for a good price, so I thought: let's try it one more time.

So far the weird situation is: I still don't get it, but I can't turn off the studio compression anymore, so I think I like it🤣 Does anyone recognise this?

The combination with the browne protein is buttery smooth.

O, and the boost side on the mid boost setting is actually very nice as a tubescreamer-ish clean boost.

Done!

My most versatile pedalboard for sure. Awesome with my Fender Blues Jr, but also perfect for recording/DI with the Tonex One..

Last addition is the Browne Protein. Very impressed with that pedal so far!

Dreamboard (almost) done

Happy with this very versatile analog/digital hybrid. Recent changes:

- Changed from the pedaltrain metro 20 to the rockboard tres 3.1. Just a little more pedalspace and more space underneath for the powersupply.

- finally went from velcro to DualLock. Even the powersupply is attached with DualLock and because of that I can perfectly fit the power cable through the hole in de front. Therefore no need for a mod which keeps the board fairly lightweight.

- I bought an extra Cioks DC4 to connect with the DC7. No more daisy chaining. It seriously reduced the noise for some pedals.

So, why the 'almost' in the title? I'm really considering to swap out the Dane MKII for the Browne Protein. Does anyone have (had) both? How do they compare?

Analog-Digital board

In order of signal chain:

- PolyTune3

- Mythos Golden Fleece: 4th and last gain stage as spitty fuzz

- MXR Duke of Tone: always on clean boost (1st gain stage)

- PastFX PX101: awesome Moog MF101 Copy. Used for Tom Misch Style Envelope Filter sounds

- Thorpy FX The Dane: low/mid gain drive + solo boost (2nd and 3rd gain stage)

- Mr. Black Tremolo: chewy harmonic trem

- Line 6 HX One: mostly used for ambient reverb, but also as army knive for other modulation

- Strymon Deco: always on for saturation en subtil slap back delay. Still don't know exactly what is does, but this is the one pedal I will never sell.

- Ditto Looper

- Tonex One: ideal for at home headphone practice and also to go direct into PA. I mostly use Jon Kaneshiro preset. They are great. When I play with a normal amp I just bypass it.

Bonus:

- topright is the Strymon Mini Switch for the Deco.

- underneath is the Cioks DC7 powersupply

- I use small arrow stickers to 'remember' de settings of some pedals;)

Super happy with the sound and versatility of this board. Took me a few years to come to this setup and I will obviously at some point buy new pedals, but for me this ticks all the boxes I need + its very portable.

Why is this pickup combination so rare??

I have a Telecaster of which I only use the neck single coil and an SG of which I only use the bridge p90. I figured, why not buy a telecaster with that configuration: Neck single coil, bridge p90.

On 'regular' tele's I only see it the other way around and I don't necessarily like a p90 in the bridge. Actually, in general I don't see this combination.

So, does anyone know why this combination is so rare/non existent? Am I super weird or would this combination be really cool??
