(posted at first in r/solarpunk after a first post I made and I was recommended to post it here too but i'm lazy to rework the first part that was specific for the first sub so skip to the ---- if you don't wanna read that XD)

I come back after I made my post about the problematic of conflict fitting or not fitting solarpunk, and if some people pass again after that one thank you all again for all the answers and opinions ^^

I come now because I got the base idea and I wish to share it, for opinions if you'd like but also to give a little update of the advancement !
I'd also like to shoutout specifically to the one that gave me the plant and GMO idea, it isn't what I went for but it is the main idea that led me where I am !So, based on that plant modification idea, it made me unconsciously imagine my character as a scientist. (Context for later)

This world is fictional, it happens on a planet that isn't ours, with vegetation and animas that aren't ours. I plan it to be potentially a mix with fantasy. (and cool detail, I want their planet to have 2 moons and rings, I'll see for the scientific effects of such moons later)
It begins a few decades after the change to a Solarpunk society. Because of their wrongdoings, because of their greed, population has massively died and even if a lot of humans are left, they're scarce and mainly concentrated in cities and small villages around them, leaving a lot of areas empty and old cities in ruins.

But with the decades that passed, new technologies emerged, restoring nature, able to control the climate to reverse the impact as they could, technologies that are here to help the planet heal and to help undo their past evil. (I'll have to develop the technologies but it needs time, this idea is only a day old remember that XD)

The main character was born during this time progress and nature. Tho it was the early stage, she still grew to only know the improvement of it and not the degradation. She now is around 20 (not decided the exact age yet, but early 20s)
Her father (who either new the past era or was told it by his own parents, I have to see) was a specific kind of biologist, one she looked up to and which made her follow that path and work in the same field as him, alongside him.

What's this specific type of biologist you might ask?
Well, they are trying to undo their ancestors wrongdoings, aren't they ? And what other as a major mistake than the massive extinction of species due to human ignorance and greed ?
That's right, they will be reconstitution biologists, scientists that work with the fossils and collected/stored ADN of extinct species to clone them as close as possible to their past versions so they could bring back the animals they killed (and only those ones, their rules are to repair what they did, not what nature did alone. Natural extinction is their limit to not cross)

And the problematic ? Well, one day, those individuals start dying, the cause is unknown, seeming external and not due to internal malfunctions, either in the labs or their organism. So after that incident, security is reinforced and our main character decides to sleep in her lab/office to act as quickly as she could instead of being late again because of the distance from her home.
But that night is different, and the complex is infiltrated. She is attacked, but gets up to sound the alarm. Tho too late. She's evacuated, but the complex still explodes.
Next morning, all she knows is that her studies are gone, the lower lives were killed, and the more unique ones, most precious ones, were taken.

Aaaaaaand that's all I have for now but that is becoming quite a solid base to develop, can't wait to read your comments for opinions or constructive criticism 👍 (note please I wish to not be given major ideas right now. As the process has been kickstarted, I like to think of it on my own as much as I can, but small ideas if you think they would be really great would still be welcomed ^^)

(before reading, stay aware that I've been doing few researches and will continue after I post, I don't rely solely on this post but having people's opinion is appreciated)
(And if I posted in the wrong subreddit, please say it kindly to me I'm not sure if this is the right place for a writing topic)

I've seen a few reels and pins about Solarpunk and it's an idea I wanna help spread, so as a writer I wish to make a story out of it. But the stories I write usually have problematics like discrimination, pollution, patriarchy, to denounce those themes.
But from my researches, Solarpunk is more about hope, joy, a good future.

I can't help feeling that bringing a problematic into it would defy the very essence of Solarpunk.
If I listened to myself I would do that at first, the Solarpunk society/world is fine but a threat comes that endangers that peace, threatens to go back to the bad sides/ways or something. But if having a risk of that as a problematic defies the genre, I would prefer not doing it, but in that case I don't know for sure what kind of story I can tell 🤔

My solutions at the moment :

- I might just go to a basic romance, even if it isn't my cup of tea.

- Just make worldbuilding, lore, and culture, create an entire world, a set of rules, the technologies, the society, ect ect but not have a story in it, publish just a lore book to explore a Solarpunk world.

- For once I could make a hopeful story, maybe making only part of the world (made up, I don't write in our irl world) Solarpunk and having the story follow the rest of it's spreading on the planet, or have them leave earth to help an extraterrestrial species that would need such technologies/asked for help. But problem with that, that still compels me to eventually write about world-wide problematics

Now, again, remember this is the early stage of my thinking, I don't depend on this post, and I will do further researches on my own too. I feel like precision is needed because on other posts I've made of such nature in other subs I have been criticized for not doing my own researches or for asking this early in the process (I had told in my old posts the same thing as here but more briefly, so now I place it with more emphasis and in hopes people will read fully)
And as another measure for my own sanity, please people, if you have nothing nice to say, if you only comment to look down on me for my ignorance, please don't comment. It has happened countless of times and it just demotivates me to write on the subject for a long time when I receive those bad comments that aren't even helping with the topic I ask about. Please stay nice (I don't ask to sugar coat the comments, you can tell criticism ! ^^Just stay respectful as possible)

J'avais fait un post pour demander des infos (et savoir où chercher) par rapport à une de mes histoires secondaires. Mais limite la plupart des gens étaient en colère que j'en sache si peux et que je veuille écrire sans savoir. Une personne m'as même dit qu'écrire sur des sujets qu'on ne connaît pas en faisant juste des recherches donnes des histoires médiocre car on est pas expert. Mais selon moi avoir suffisamment de connaissance pour avoir une base plausible et compenser avec une bonne écriture/histoire serait suffisant

D'où ma question qui vient ensuite:
Est ce que, pour vous, c'est meilleure une histoire avec un mauvais scénario mais des faits exact et logique sur les sciences évoquées, ou une histoire avec un scénario incroyable mais avec des faits incorrect qui reflète un manque de recherche ?

(j'ai fais exprès d'exagérer les 2 options pour vraiment avoir le débat recherche vs scénario qui ressort, mais si vous voulez développer sur des entres 2 ça me va aussi j'aime les partages d'opinions)

Et si ça a de l'importance dans la réponse, j'écris personnellement de la fiction (SF et Fantasy) donc ma question se tourne un peu plus vers ces genres, mais si vous voulez développer votre opinion sur d'autre genre vous pouvez !

I am creating a story around a captain and his crew sailing, but I need to know how many men/women I need to create for said crew, for that I need to know the type of ship I'd want for the story, and I kinda know neither of the answers 🤔

It'd be useful if someone could tell me what type of ships back then were used for with how many people they'd roughly need to be navigated. My story is a medieval-like time, a fantasy, I don't need chronological accuracy with our own timeline but I want to avoid modern ships with machinery, motor, whatever there is in a modern ship idk ^^'

I'll do my own research too but it might be long so while I do this search and struggle I also post here to have possibly more targeted answers ^^

Edit: I don't know what ship they would be on, I haven't made enough researches to know yet. But for some informations on what they do that would be useful for the kind of ship I'd need, here :
- I'd like if possible a medium sized ship (or larger if preferable, I'd like at least to have a crew of 10 people minimum around 25 people limit for the maximum)
- They are free spirits so they explore known and unknown seas, take commissions (to search, capture, bring back things or people), transport people or few merchandise on demand, act like pirates sometimes
- They would all mostly live on the ship annually

Idk what of all this is possible or what I need to compromise and remove to have other things available, but the most I can keep the better it is

Second edit: I might have been unclear, sorry if I was, but my world, tho medieval like, is entirely fictional ! Registration, rules, laws, this will be developed so my crew can sail how I want it to in all logic, and that's also why I am not restricted to any era for the boat's inspiration (that can be early or late medieval, renaissance, ect), I just say it's medieval-like as fantasy is usually set in an older time era most likely inspired by medieval europe. But my world is 100% fictional on its politics, maps, laws, kingdoms, and magic is also in there that can help with some other problems I'd encounter with ships for what I want it to do, so I can take whatever is the closest to what I want and make plausible adjustments with magic.

J'avais déjà tenter un post avec ma ville mais je me sentais pas tant en sécurité de l'avoir dit donc j'ai supprimé et là j'élargi. Aussi les personnes qui sont venus me parler (en majorité sympa) ça n'as pas duré du coup je vais spécifié un peu plus ce qui pourrais marcher ?

Je pense qu'il faudrait qu'on ai des passions en commun, pour pouvoir avoir des sujets de conversations plus facilement !
J'aime :
- Lire (Fantasy, SF, Romance, Fantastique)
- Écrire (Fantasy, SF, Romance)
-Roleplay/écrire avec quelqu'un (des roleplay assez narratifs)
- Dessiner (des personnages majoritairement, les miens)
- Les jeux vidéos (assez vaste)
- Arcane, ATLA, Steven Universe
- L'humour ! Pouvoir être bizarre sans jugement
-Les conversations profondes et les opinions (tant que c'est dans le respect)
- Me balader (dans des parcs/zones naturelles c'est le mieux !)

Aussi j'aimerais des gens proches de mon âge, 19-23 dans les extrémité, car avoir un écart plus grand me mets un peu mal à l'aise. Et peut être aussi que j'aimerais rencontrer plus de fille ? J'ai rien contre les garçons et vous pouvez venir aussi c'est juste que je suis à l'aise moins rapidement qu'avec des amis filles (et aucune n'est venu dans le dernier post TvT)

Aussi s'il vous plaît, engagez la conversation aussi 🙏 c'est arrivé plusieurs fois que je sois la seule à la faire vivre, à envoyer des réactions, des questions, et à n'avoir que des messages courts ou centré sur soi en retour, ça me dérange pas en soi mais quand ça dure 3h ça devient épuisant et lassant TvT

I (21F) love to play my characters with others, I do it with my best friend quite a lot and it's amazing ! But I'd also love to do it a bit with at least 1 other person
(not seeking to replace her at all, love her and our writings deeply, just seeking to have another person to write with in my other spare time bcs I love writing in general and she can't always be here)

- I only do OC x OC, that's what feels most comfortable for me
- I mostly prefer doing it in our own fictional worlds (if you're no writer I can create it) rather than other existing fictional worlds or our irl world, tho they're not a no for me
- We usually do narrative/novel-like roleplay, but a more classical one is fine !
- I would like to write with people around my age, must be an adult !
- I mainly write fantasy but I can go no problem to futuristic, modern, post apocaliptic ect
- I love to do romance but I also love to do family members or friends
- I would prefer if you have some experience in writing or narration or character development, at least to have a cohesive writing and a more realistic character
- We can discuss what themes to do together later, I can pretty much do anything there too

I'm also french, in case another french speaking person pass here I'd be down for RP in french ! But for the others, I'm more or less fluent in english and learned to write through it as much as through french so it won't impact my RP

Ça fait maintenant presque 1 an que je cherche du boulot sur Bourges. Je n'ai que mon bac en diplôme, 1 petit stage en boutique pour l'expérience, rien d'autre, pas même le permis. Et depuis tout ce temps il n'y a absolument rien qui correspond, ou personne qui accepte de me prendre. Tout les métiers requiert de l'expérience, le permis, ou des diplôme que je n'ai pas, même si ça n'a en apparence rien à voir avec le post (surtout le permis, tout le monde le demande même si on se déplace pas dans le post) et les trucs les plus "abordables" comme Mcdo, Burger King, CGR cinéma, y'a jamais de posts à pourvoir !
Et les peu de fois où j'ai pu envoyé mon CV, même pas 1 réponse.
Je me fais de plus en plus pressée par mes parents pour trouver du boulot mais y'a absolument rien pour les jeunes ! Je sais pas ce que je suis censée faire maintenant...

J'avais fait un post auparavant pour chercher des amis auteurs et nous avons formé un groupe d'écriture à plusieurs avec les gens intéressé !
Nous sommes maintenant 7 membres, et c'est une ambiance très agréable !
On se conseils, on demande des avis, on lit les histoires des autres, on fait des jeux d'écriture, et on ne se restreint pas à juste ça on parle entre nous aussi de tout et de rien pour cette ambiance amicale.
On veut rester sur un petit comité, je pense personnellement pas plus d'une quinzaine pour garder la convivialité, mais on aimerais quand même quelques additions si ça dit à certains ^^
Nous faisons aussi attention à ne laisser personne de côté ! J'ai créer ce serveur justement pour éviter cette sensation désagréable que j'ai déjà eu dans des serveur d'écritures plus gros.

Précisions !
- Nous sommes en majorité dans la vingtaine (hormis 1 membre) et il est requis d'être majeur.
- Les intentions doivent être bienveillantes et non à but de tenter de séduire des membres (oui oui... on en a eu un...) ou autres. Les propos doivent êtres respectueux aussi. (en bref, soyez des humains décents svp 🙏)
- Tout genres d'écriture est accepté, voir même si vous voulez juste venir pour donner votre avis et aider sans écrire vous pouvez aussi
- Tout types de personnes sont accepté aussi, n'hésité pas en vous disant "mais je suis ci, ou ça, peut être qu'ils acceptent pas...." tatatata !!!! Pas de ça ici, on accepte tout le monde de manière égale et bienveillante

J'ai remarqué que dans mes écrits et mon style de narration (qui est en 3eme personne de manière permanente), je ne me limitais pas à un narrateur omniscient, pdv interne ou pdv externe, mais qu'à la place je switchais entre les 3 en fonction de l'effet que je veux donner dans mon récit, si je veux entrer dans la tête de mon personnage ou à l'inverse appuyer un effet du genre une dissociation, ou décrire un paysage ou un combat plus librement. Mais parallèlement j'adore aussi faire de profondes pensées chez un personnage, n'avoir que son point de vue aussi pour une touche de mystère, ou bien être en narration externe pour une touche de mystère surtout au début des histoires/à l'introduction des personnages principaux de qui j'écrirais les points de vue.
Est ce que vous trouvez ça choquant ? Est ce que ça plairait à lire ?
J'aime écrire de cette manière mais si c'est peu recommandé à vrai dire je ne sais pas parmi lequel des 3 choisir ma narration, les 3 sont très familiers et me servent beaucoup

Du coup je me présente rapidement ! J'ai 21 ans en Septembre (donc je le compte comme si je les avais déjà XD), j'aime lire, écrire, dessiner, jouer aux jeux vidéos. J'aime aussi énormément écouter de la musique et mes goûts son assez varié même si je n'écoute pas forcément de tout (varié dans le style ça va de orchestre epic à AURORA à set it off).
Je suis assez introverti, et timide aussi, j'arrive à parler par texte mais en appel ou dans la vrai vie je suis un peu moins confiante, mais une fois à l'aise je parle beaucoup et j'aime passé du temps avec l'autre personne ^^
Je suis autiste et parfois j'ai du mal à interpréter/à comprendre l'autre mais j'essaie autant que je peux, je le dis car je ne veux pas paraître méchante par accident.

Et je précise en dernier que avec ce poste je ne recherche pas l'amour ! (précision nécessaire car c'est arrivé qu'on m'aborde après des posts sur l'écriture pour échanger et au final juste me draguer, je ne recherche pas ça)

It's not that it just automatically changes to my native language (French, but I prefer watching in original language so most of the time english) but it's also that no matter what I try, refreshing the page, changing the audio manually, setting my preferred language to english, the videos with a french dub are always put with the french audio with no possibility to change it.
What happens when I change it manually is I click on "english - original" and it closes the settings part like it worked, but as I put play on the video again it's still in french and when looking in the settings again it still is set on french
