First timer questions!

This will be my first ever Red Rocks concert, we'll be there in September for the Backseat Lovers! We're all super excited, but we're just a bunch of broke 20 somethings pooling together basically birthday money to road trip there and back. We'll be doing some camping so I'd love recommendations for sites around the Denver area, but we do want a hotel to crash at the night of the concert. I've heard the Golden and the Origin are lovely hotels, but we 10000% do not have $200+ to drop on a hotel room for one night. None of us need anything fancy, some reliable little hotel would do just fine. Any specific hotels that yall could recommend would be great but also could use some knowledge of maybe a district or general area we should just look around in!

The other question is about transportation. Since we're road tripping, we'll have my little suv with all our stuff in it anyway, so we could tailgate, but I imagine getting out of the area at the end of the night might be something of a nightmare. idk, that's just what has happened at every other concert I've ever been to where I drove there myself. Should we tailgate? Uber? Take a shuttle? Knowing that info might help me narrow down where we might look for the hotel as well.

Thank you !!

Beginner - pls help

I am once again taking a stab at learning to bike. Here's my two questions, and they're going to be dumb so be prepared:

  1. How are yall not falling over when you pedal? I'm being so so fr. When I just "walk" on the bike and balance while moving forward but without pedaling, I can balance pretty okay until I start slowing down. The SECOND I start pedaling, I start going down on that side. What's the next step, what am I missing here?

  2. Is my ass going to hurt forever

Thank you ♡

AIO for kicking new friends out of my game night in a storm?

I (26F) ended up kicking new friends (22F + her bf) out of my house during game night because they snuck into my bedroom to have a quickie, now everyone is upset with me.

Me & my friend group take turns hosting a game night, we try to do it monthly. This month was my turn to host. I live in an apartment complex with street parking only that gets filled up fast. Whenever people are coming to visit but can't find parking, there's a playground nearby (5-10min walk) with a large parking lot that people go to (this will be important later)

I recently met a new friend - I'll call her Gabrielle - at the bar through friends who've been coming to game night for months, they met her a few weeks prior. For context, game night is about connection; we do not party in the traditional sense at game night, it's just card games and catching up really. We have 5-15 people depending on the night. We have cats we rescued recently who get really scared of new people, so we put them in the bedroom and close the door. New friend has been really nice/sweet in the <5 times I've hung out with her. That's context, here's what happened.

I extended an invite to only her for game night, and she brought her bf - I'll call him Joe - who I've never met. He was immediately annoying (throwing shoes hard on the floor when I mentioned we have elderly downstairs neighbors, talking over gabrielle and I, more that I don't even care to type rn) but I decided not to make a scene and just give him a chance. Partway through playing uno, gabrielle gets up and says she's gonna use the bathroom. About 5mins later, during my turn so I barely noticed, Joe gets up and goes down the hallway. I assume he knows something about her that I don't and maybe he needs to check on her, so I go back to playing.

Maybe 10mins (? I'm not sure on how long it was) later, someone goes "where did gabrielle and joe go?" They still haven't joined us again so someone goes to check on the patio and I go to check the bathroom. Bathroom light is on, I knock on the door and don't get an answer. Then I hear something fall in my bedroom.

I assume it's the cats just being assholes and knocking shit over for fun so I go in to check on them and pick up whatever they knocked over, and I what I see when I open the door is joe's WHOLE CHEEKS and gabrielle in my bed. Ofc they're scrambling and I close the door fast as fuck and then realize wtf is happening and I open the door again and tell them to get dressed and leave. I have a little savings jar, a firearm, and my cats and shit in my room so I stayed in there and looked away while they got dressed!!

There wasn't any crash out or yelling or anything, but people could tell there was something happening, just not what. I was helping them get their purse and shoes and making sure they left when gabrielle started saying how it's storming out and they have to walk to their car at the playground and she was sorry they were just a little drunk and didn't realize it would be an issue, but I was really upset and just held the door open for them to leave and said get home safe. It was a little awkward getting back into game night but eventually we went back to normal and had a nice night. I didn't tell anyone what happened bc I didn't want it to ruin the night.

Now idk what she told the group but I have texts from multiple people telling me I was being dramatic and hurtful and I "shouldn't have kicked them out over something so small"

So am I overreacting? Is this common and I've just happened to never encounter it? It just felt gross and like my privacy was intruded on

*EDIT: I am texting my friends back right now and telling them what happened. I think yall are right and I should have made a scene or at least not tried to hide it to make THEM feel better.

**UPDATE: she told my friends I went into the bathroom while she was still using it and kicked them out bc I didn't like that joe was here. No mention of going into my bedroom, no mention of the quickie. Just that I was being so mean and kicking them out in a storm bc I felt like it.

I sent the groupchat this thread. 3 of them are coming over after work to smoke and talk about it

Questions about renting from Lori Brockman Rentals?

Ask me anything!

Me and my fiance just moved into one of Lori's units. Granted, we aren't even a month in yet; But I have NEVER had such an amazing experience with a landlord. What we are paying for a nice 2bed1bath apartment in a beautiful part of town, with (so far) lovely neighbors, in unit laundry provided, and some of the fastest, most responsive & respectful communication with her team and with maintenance - it's just been great and we feel so lucky. Right now I would recommend her highly to anyone who wants to live in Columbia.

+ if this is a few months down the line (post made May 2026) and you're thinking of renting from her and want to know something, just comment or send me a DM! If things keep going as well as they have been, we plan to be here for a long time.
