Hi there. I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who have shared their experiences with their lip biopsies. I was diagnosed 10ish years ago via blood test but recently got a new rheumatologist who wanted to do a lip biopsy. I was TERRIFIED but all of the posts and comments here sharing experiences helped a lot. I had my lip biopsy today and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting so I’m sharing my experience in hopes that I can set someone else’s mind at ease.

The whole thing was pretty brief. They numbed my lip, which was the most uncomfortable part, but didn’t last long. Then it was on like Donkey Kong. The incision was made, the doc took 5 glands and then sewed me back up. I think from the time I arrived in the waiting room to the end of the procedure was maybe 30 minutes? Not bad at all. My lip is currently swollen but not giving me much trouble pain wise. We’ll see how it heals up! Honestly, tearing my cornea a month ago (from dry eyes) was 500 times worse.

I took the plunge and ordered the strawberry rhubarb Marin lip treatment and she finally arrived today. So far, I’m in love! You guys were not lying.
I love the texture. It’s thick in a way I like but not too sticky. The smell is great but not overpowering or artificial tasting and I’m usually quite sensitive to scents and smells. It’s a great size and the applicator is great!

I think I’m going to have to try out some of their moisturizer for my eczema prone skin. ❤️
